is there any way harden stays in school to prove he can play in big games?

Something is wrong with Harden. He just isn't getting any lift on his shots.

That said, he's been so lousy in these two games, he really has to think about returning for one more year.

Why is Syracuse trying to score every 5 seconds?

Because they can shoot three-pointers like nobody's business. It's a better way to play than Howland's prevent offense at UCLA.

Syracuse is the better team, so it's no surprise we lost. But, it feels like we didn't put our best game out there either. What, with Pendergraph in foul trouble and Harden struggling to make anything.

Syracuse 3 point% .343

UCLA 3 point% .399

They did outscore UCLA by 5 PPG this year. Again, UCLA sucked on defense this year, not offense. They were 238th in the country in defensive FG%, they led the country in offensive FG%(going into the conference tourney not sure where they finished).

Tough game for ASU, I too wonder if Harden might be back, he's either hurt or being exposed as an inconsistent outside shooter. I tend to think he'll go and be fine, you don't see too much zone like that in the NBA, but that's 3 straight games he's been handled. I aslo thought ASU over reacted to penetration leading to too many open 3's, same problem UCLA has had all year getting ripped by open 3's because of that.

Big East is now 9-1 in the tourney. They're really good, Nova swept Syracuse this year and only finished 4th in the conference, Syracuse only finished 6th.
Both look like they're good enough to possibly get to the 8.

Harden was MIA again and that was the difference between these teams. We also missed too many free throws.

I don't believe Harden's lack of lift can be blamed on injury, aj. He never does have high hops. Very disappointing. Maybe he was simply a big fish in a small pond out here and has been exposed. Or, more likely, he choked.

He will be an average pro. His best assets are court vision, passing and long arms.

Skkorp, Harden will be OK if he's a second or third scoring option and allowed to handle the ball a lot (aka Joe Johnson). He's got a long way to go to work up the mentality of killer, which he'll need if he's a high lottery pick.
