Thanks for setting this up, slinslin.

How long do we have to decide on each pick? I need to do some research when I have just a bit more time.

We have 6-7 days until draft day so we have to do about 5 polls per day to get the first round done.

I would guess that each poll is closed when you can see an obvious trend.

You're probably going to have to figure out a way to open and close the polls around set times each day--the problem is that a person may decide on Bosh for the #4 pick. But if the #5 poll includes Bosh--it could be conceivable that the same player could win 2 different polls on any given day. That's why it's probably too late.

It might be easier just to create a huge mock draft thread, where everyone does their own.

Doing your own mockdraft takes sooooo long and it is so tough to figure out some teams.

I guess I will just open more polls at the same time. I expect that we are all smart enough not to vote for the same guy we voted earlier again.

Chap is right. People should be smart enough not to take the same player twice, but that doesn't fix the problem. Many people may vote for a guy who is not actually on the draft board at that pick.

I'm assuming that people realize that this pick is actually for the Toronto Raptors.

Versus you spending a ton of time opening polls and making the tough decision about who to put on the poll, I don't think it's a bad trade-off. Don't you? Sure, mocks might take a long time, but then you know what everyone's vote is on every pick instead of several anonymous picks to produce a large draft.

If you wanted to, you could just compare all the mocks that are posted and compile a "best of" mock.

I don't think it is a problem.

If we always have 3 open polls at one time. If for some unlikely reason Chris Bosh would win the later poll as well we would have the guy with the 2nd most votes winning it.

Deciding who to put on a poll is pretty easy.

Go to nbadraft.net and put on all names that are close to that pick and have people who think differently write in that name.

I doubt that everyone is interessted to do a whole mockdraft and then somebody has to combine all mockdrafts to one.
That would also not fix the problem that one player could have most votes on several positions.

Huh?

The only thing you'd have to worry about when combining mocks into a "best of" would be tiebreakers.

The poll thing is just too disorganized this late in the game.

I for one would rather post a mock draft of the entire 1st round and debate that with others who post their own mocks.

Why don't we do both and compare the results?

Joe_Mama could start a sticky thread for everyone to post their mockdrafts....
