Some serious crap is going down inwhich talk is circulating about a player reset.

Is a complete reset necessary?

I'm still stupid enough to be in the game for the long run.

If a reset happens inwhich we keep our levels and get to redistribute the SPs - I would ask everyone to please wait and lets take advantage of this to further improve our players.

Please confirm if you have read this.

Bug fixed. The file affected appears to be pretty recently modified, when I was doing updates related to the test server.

Outliers would be pretty easy to spot through some statistical analysis of appropriate pt levels. Seems like cheater types are never happy with 1-2 extra points, too. They always go all out and try and get 99's...dummies.

I'd like to thank the reporter of this bug for not spreading it around and instead reporting it.

The attributes & SA's are updated based on client-side javascript... meaning it was (is?) possible to set them to basically whatever you'd like by changing the script in your browser using Greasemonkey, Firebug, or any number of web development plugins for browsers.

Meaning... some players have been getting as many extra SP's as they'd like.

Veteran Point Cheating - A reset is coming

I've been alerted to an exploit (now fixed) on veteran point spending, allowing some players to gain some extra veteran points to which they were not entitled.

On first inspection of existing players for acceptable ranges for # of vp's, I am happy to see that the exploit has not been used excessively; and is usually just an extra 2-3 points.

However, I will be running a script later today to parse through existing players and find those who have too many points. If you are a couple points over, we are not worried about banning you for cheating, because it's likely it was a mistake or you were unaware, but we will be resetting players who fall in that category.

If you have obviously exploited the system and have far too many points for your player's level, we will be retiring the player and/or banning your account for not alerting us to a possible cheat. I urge you to come forward and report your player to support if you want to avoid this situation, and you have not already done so. If you have no clue what I am talking about, you have nothing to worry about.
