Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze is looking to add talented, experienced depth to the Tigers' defensive backfield following several departures at the end of spring practice.

One candidate is former Arizona and Miami cornerback Emmanuel Karnley, who is set to visit Auburn this week, according to multiple outlets, including On3.

Karnley signed with Arizona as a three-star cornerback from the 2023 class. After redshirting in 2023, he made nine appearances with six starts and logged 16 tackles with five pass deflections for the Wildcats in 2024. According to Pro Football Focus data, Karnley participated in 369 snaps last season and graded out at 53.5. He missed 19% of his tackles and allowed covered receivers a catch rate of 51.2%.

After his successful season at Arizona, Karnley transferred to Miami. His stay was brief as he entered the transfer portal this week following spring practice in Coral Gables.

Auburn lost four defensive backs after spring practice concluded on April 12, including cornerback JC Hart. Despite losing depth, several talented players return to the group, such as Jay Crawford, Kayin Lee, and Miami (Ohio) transfer Raion Strader. Adding Karnley would boost Auburn's depth and would provide an extra member to the unit while freshmen Blake Woodby, Devin Williams, and Donovan Starr develop.
