And there aren't many places better to roll up to as a member than Augusta National Golf Club. Oh to be one of captains of industry in this famed club. The men — and more recently women — who possess a green jacket in their locker are warm and welcoming during their annual get together that traditionally concludes on the second weekend in April. Bonds are formed with the competitors. So we asked them to name their favorite ANGC member and even though the member ranks are typically shrouded in secrecy, they obliged.

The Masters is April 10-13 at Augusta National Golf Club, and the Golfweek Masters Surveys are back in 2025. Here are the latest answers.

Adam Scott

How many will I upset by naming just one? Doug Mackenzie and I are good buddies. He was invited to join the club the same year that I won the Masters (2013). That’s our connection.

Gary Player

Sam Nunn. He was my favorite member ever because of his wisdom, humility and had such good advice for South Africans to have a prosperous country.

Gary Woodland

George Roberts is one of my good friends.

Jason Day

I do miss playing with Bubba Watson. I don’t see him much anymore. He’s one guy who gives me a lot of crap. [Editor’s note: Watson is a two-time Masters champion but is not believed to be a member of the club. Still, we liked the answer so decided to share it anyway.]

Justin Thomas

I’ve played the most with Jeff Knox out there but I can’t pick one. There are so many.

Keegan Bradley

Jimmy Dunne.

Kevin Kisner

I’ve got a bunch. I’m going to say Rick Pennell, my hunting buddy. Jeff Knox is going to be mad at me for not saying him.

Mackenzie Hughes

Frank Edwards and Tom Nelson. They’re both members at Quail. Frank was my partner at Seminole last year when we won the Pro-Member.

Matt Fitzpatrick

Michael Miller. He’s become a close family friend.

Matt Kuchar

Dave Dorman has been my host for many years. He's a Georgia Tech alum, been friendly forever, could not have been nicer to me over the years, including taking me on several non-Masters days to go play. Whenever we're there, he is so good at sharing stories of what's going on with Augusta National. He's always been so good at slowing the conversation down so I can comprehend his friends.

Rickie Fowler

The list is very long. I'm going to have to go with Nick Evans. He is a good friend. I've stayed with him up there. He’s local and lives over by the country club. He hosted my dad, my grandpa and me last year ahead of the Masters. I was finally able to take my dad and my grandpa, who is the one who introduced me to golf. We stayed in Butler Cabin and did the whole Augusta experience with them. We played two rounds on the Par 3. I wish we would have done it a little earlier in my career because my grandpa is getting older now but it worked out great. He was able to take a cart and cruise around and basically just teed off from 150 to 200 yards out on every hole. There's a lot of others like Jimmy Dunne. I don't look at him as just an Augusta member. He's kind of everywhere.

Tony Finau

Rob Light is my guy there. I’ve been invited by multiple members but he’s been very generous to have me and a couple of my friends out every year.

Webb Simpson

Bobby Long. He is the one who took me and my father to play (the course) in college. He is one of my closest friends. I learned the game with Bobby and his son Robert in Wilmington back in 1994.

Wyndham Clark

I’ll give you two. Johnny Harris and George Solich.

Xander Schauffele

I don’t know any of them that well. But they’ve all been incredibly kind.

Zach Johnson

I can't pick one because a lot of them I would call dear friends. But I'll go with a gentleman that was basically my host, like if I brought guests. His name is Jean Howerra, his dad was a member. Jean was from Augusta. He passed away. I’d always see him on the first tee. He would give me a hug at the back of the tee box, he’d always come up and give me a hug. So he would be No. 1 on my list.
