I loved those Giants teams of the mid-80's and the guy who I liked the most was Mark Bavaro. Watching Jenkins play, he catches the ball alot like Bavaro, away from his body. The thing that Jenkins does that most reminds me of Bavaro is his ability to shield defenders, make the catch and then be a handful to bring down.

I think when all the dust settles on this draft, Jenkins may have the biggest immediate impact if he goes to the right place (Cardinals???).

They absolutely won't take him @ 20. I think he goes before 52, mtl.

He's no where near the line blocker Bavaro was. Keep an eye out for Fiedorowicz out of Iowa or Arthur Lynch out of Georgia in the 3rd Rd. possibly. Troy Nikklas is also the best blocker of all the TE's coming out(needs work on recieving) but would cost a 2nd, mtl. There could possibly be a fit there if they want to establish the run game early and with leads.

I was on the ASJ bus until I read that multiple scouts are reporting that while he's as physically gifted as any TE in the draft, he's flat out lazy.

Pass.

I really think those are the two guys targeted by Keim. Remember BA has said he wants his TEs to be good blockers first and receivers second. That describes both Fiedorwicz & Lynch plus they could be there on the 3rd round.

No way he's a Bavarro clone. BA has already said he wants TEs who can block first, then catch passes & called Heath Miller the best TE in the NFL by his standards.

Thus, we ain't drafting a TE early IMO, probably in the first 3 rounds because a TE isn't gonna be the differance in the Cards winning or not winning the Super Bowl.

I like him as a prospect

He did have surgery on a foot to fix a stress fracture. That might push him down more than he otherwise would go. I think (money back guarantee, as always!) he will be there at 52

All the tools and is maybe the most complete TE in the draft. He doesn't run like Ebron or block like Nicklas, but is a good blocker AND a very good receiver. He has excellent hands, and is good at the jump ball contested catch.

Had some character issues early, but settled down. This is a player who simply did what was asked when the offense changed and didn't complain (way more run blocking this year vs spread-like the prior). - in fact, won the Mackey award as the best college TE.

I think "lazy" is overstating it-- it's more like "relies too much on physical ability alone". This puts him in the company of Ebron and about 25% of the rest of the top -100 players.

I would take him in a heartbeat at #52.

I know the Giants are very interested in Lynch. Prob. in the 3rd from what I've read.

Fair assessment.

He’s going to be close to Gronkowski talent-wise,” one scout said. “Now he’s lazy and a (expletive). It’s all kinds of just minor stuff. There’s always something wrong with him.” Had 146 receptions in three seasons. Played some basketball for Huskies. “I think he’s a pretender,” another scout said. “Not really a football player. The hype is big, but he don’t want to block and he is kind of half-(expletive) in everything he does. Inconsistent and unreliable.”

Jenkins seems to be inconvenienced by game schedules, practice, combines, etc.

Every receiver on Madden this year reminds commentator Phil Simms of Mark Bavarro too. Fairly annoying, actually.

If he's there at 52, he should be the Cards pick.

Yup I was all about drafting Jenkins till I did more research on him. Haven't heard one good thing about his personality
