I think it would be a good idea. A few of the other boards I frequent uses one. If one forum member posts twice in a row in the same thread within 15 minutes, it merges the posts and puts an edit at the bottom that says

Edit: Automerge Doublepost

I just think it's a cool idea for ASFN.

Vince, I am not sure if this is a feature of the software. Can you either post or PM me some links where this is used?

If it is not native, and a hack, then I would advise against using it. Seems like a lot of work for something that is not a big problem.

"Automerge doublepost" sounds like Orwellian doublespeak to me. The Ministry of Information would be very pleased. We should all have a round of victory gin and think of all the unpersons we haven't seen anymore since their thoughtcrimes were so dubiously doubleposted.
