Winning two Stanley Cups in three years is certainly reason enough for the Los Angeles Kings to be confident in their late playoff chase. The Kings will try to capitalize on another team outside of postseason position Saturday night against the Colorado Avalanche, who may need to be perfect to have a chance of qualifying. Los Angeles (38-25-14) is tied with Winnipeg for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, but holds the tiebreaker with four more non-shootout wins. The Kings are also one point back of Calgary for third in the Pacific Division with five games left in the regular season - one more than the Flames.
