Aveion Cason

I was hoping to see him play but he didn't. If someone that taped the game could confirm the following. After the half it was showing Aveion sitting on the bench helmet off but had his war paint on. It appeared a trainer or someone was asking him if he was going to play or wanted to play and he kept shaking his head no. Maybe I am off here but is there a medical reason we didn't see him?

Bryant and Pace both looked good and hopefully solidified themselves a spot on the roster. I think Denny is getting these two motivated enough to want a starting position.

Josh is playing way too conservatively, as far as throwing the ball. He is way to aggresive running. Taking too much punishment.

Navarre looks really good for a first year 7th rounder. If given a wall and some talented WR he could pick secondaries appart all year long. First time I really got to see him in action. Was concentrating on the starters in the other games.

Pepe got some push and looked to be able to contribute to this team.

I am not sold on Hambrick. He still seemed to go down fairly easy for what he is being sold as. On the long running play the announcers made statements like he carried the cb on his back for 20 yards. It was more like the cb was on him for maybe 5-7 yards. He was effective enough to keep him from challenging the safety that finally got him out of bounds. I wish I could have seen him take on that safety in open field. Then I would have know what we he's made off.

Wilson is looking awesome!! He was coming for the QB on one play when it was a hand off up the gut. He adjusted intaneously to 90 degrees to make the tackle 3 yards away.

Darling seemed lost and I would say he is gone. He missed coverages twice in a couple minutes. Then trying to catch up to the play he almost took himself and a db (stone?) out of the game.

Stone was flying around trying to make plays, but his body control is scary. He could very well take out one of our guys also.

Loving Rackers. Touchbacks and long filed goals, what else can we ask for?

Newhouse dropped one that hit him in the numbers. Looked like he tried to use his belly to catch it. This may make him odd man out - hopefully he clears waivers and makes the Practice squad.

I hate to say it cause Damien was my boy, but Croom should be 3rd sting running back behind Emmit and Hambrick. Trouble is we need Scobey because of the kickoff returns, Kasper will be fine at WR but he is not a KR. Hopefully ST coach and Denny have seen this now and I won't excuse it if he is put out there again.

All I can remember I'll try to brain dump closer to the end of the game hereafter.

It would be a major surprise if Scobey is cut. He's our best special teamer right now. I think he plays on every special team. He was the one who got the punt block. He's the third string back.

I agree with most of your assessments, long season.

I think Damien is the odd man out; Croom and Cason are clones so my guess is Croom makes the roster and Cason is out. Scobey is a lock for special teams. The only thing I noticed about Cason sitting next to Hambrick - Cason looked tiny sitting next to him! Hambrick is one big guy. But the knock on him has always been getting out of bounds instead of taking on the tackler.

I agree Josh is playing very conservatively. My guess is they'll open it up once the real games start.

I agree Navarre looks very impressive. He had a few dropped balls but he just seems to see the field very well. He could be a very solid QB someday if he had a great OLine so his lack of mobility wouldnt be a concern.

Pepe did play play very well for a player who was supposed to be cut. Getting good pressure on a few plays.

Pace looked very good against the run and pass. I think he just needs to get excited about playing the game, it seems to me that his confidence had taken a little hit but the kid has potential to do some special things. I hope Wendell Bryant comes around sometime and becomes a good DT but Russell Davis made some good plays in the game and I dont see Wendell taking over yet.

Hambrick is huge. He is much heavier then the 233 he is listed at. He has no speed at all but once he gets his momentum going he is hard to bring down. On the end of that run I disagree it did look like it was difficuly for them to take down his big body. That said Smith is still our best running back.

Croom may have the most potential of any RB we have.

I love Adrian Wilson. He is so fun to watch and hits like a train, my only problem with him is that he isnt a great form tackler, he seems to either arm tackle or just try to hit the guy hard and knock him down not wrapping up, but that is something that can be easily fixed.

I am worried about a free safety. I just dont think Q Harris will cut it and Ohalete is hurt and DJax is out for the year. It scares me a little.
