It's hard for me to agree with that. We spent a ton of money on that position over the last decade, and it got us nothing. Now, it seems we got the RIGHT talent with the RIGHT coach.

Actually the best money was spent on Terrelle Smith. If the Cards were still running with no blocking FB the rushing stats would probably be just as pitiful as last year.

How Green and his coaches couldn't see that LBs were shooting gaps untouched and blowing up the running plays in the backfield or couldn't figure out how to stop it is amazing.

From Cards 17 Hawks 0 Seattle scored on 4 straight possessions including drives of 80 and 78 yards.

That's two weeks in a row that the defense has failed to protect a lead.

Right now they remind me of the 2004 defense that stopped drives with turnovers but not by forcing 3 and out and when the turnovers stopped the next two seasons the defense was pitiful.

Hopefully they'll improve when Branch returns to spell Watson instead of having to use Bailey.

At least they've been better than in preseason when they didn't stop any drives.
