There is no way that trophy belongs in "Little Mexico" It is back in the correct hands. Although I was very worried for a while at the game, I knew ASU had more playmakers than U of A. T-Rich will be feared next year, exciting times ahead. Go Devils.

I read in the paper that Arizona now leads the all-time series 44-34-1. Not being familar with the history, I just assumed that ASU 'owned' the series.

Wouldn't Tucson be considered home for the Territorial Cup considering UofA has the advantage in the overall series?

LOL

Considering it took numerous UA mistakes, a punt return for a TD, and a last second field goal to beat that sucking team, at home, what does that say about ASU?

I am just suprised they didn't crap the bed again.
For that they deserve a thumbup.

You have to recall that for a long time ASU was a tiny teachers college, going up against the lone big state school. UofA racked up a lot of wins in the early years. ASU racked up a ton under Kush. And then UofA went on a weird tear in the 80s. Which was kind of odd, because even when ASU was better (ie 86) they still couldnt beat the UofA. I think they said on TV the last 14 match ups have been split 7-7, so its been pretty even in recent years. I'd love to see ASU pull ahead in the all time series, but that would probably take a long time.

Also, Mao, I think Tempe would be the Territorial Cups home, since ASU won the first game/cup.

Weird may be an under-statement.

ASU was 3-13-1 from 1982 to 1998 against the U of A.

Cooper, Marmie, and Synder never really figured it out, did they?

"HUGE U of A fan and HUGE Cardinal football fan here....its not as bad as you think because i have no idea what winning football looks like anyway......:)"

I gotta say im slightly flattered that i got on someones signature....even if it is a scum devil.......

Yeah congrats on that win there bucko......i think every important skill position player was out for the UA and it still took a special teams breakdown and ridiculous QB play after Tui left for you to win at home....congrats guys!

A loss is a loss but is there that big a difference between 3-8 and 4-7...its not like we lost draft positioning or anything...and our freshman looks like Tom Brady (seriously he is one of the most poised young players i have EVER seen) what pocket presence and accuracy the kid has....Ill take our future over yours all day...

and sweet oregon fan saying Keller and the devils are going to the Rose bowl....i like Keller too but get a grip....arn't you guys on the cusp of the BCS? Go get on the Ducks jock for godsake....

You guys go it this year but in between now and then we will go 2-0 in basketball, kill you guys in baseball and softball and then have you come back to Tucson for next years game and a thorough ass whupping under a healthy seasoned UA squad.....

A Win, is a win, is a win. I am sick and tired of the UofA winning past games on special team plays, freak plays, and such and the Devils took it... now, you want to point out that we won because you lost your QB and others say because you lost your RB. Yeah, well, we lost last year because we lost our QB Walters. Get over it, the UofA lost, lost, lost.

That being said, one of my dark days here in Tucson was when they hired Mike Stoops. It was at that time that I saw the future - the UofA may just become a serious contender in the future (and one game does not a season make). I'm talking about pushing USC, Oregon, ASU, UCLA, for the PAC-10 title year after year. I do believe that with his recruiting contacts, his name, and energy, Mike Stoops is bringing in some solid talent. The problem is, can he coach them... hasn't proved a whole lot yet - but let's wait to make that evaluation 12 months from now - he will have his players in the game by then. (btw, Tuitama looks like the real deal)

Let's get real for a second regarding the UofA... you hate the Sun Devils much more than we even think of Tucson. I actually attended both schools (undergrad at ASU and graduate degree from the UofA), and it is very interesting how the Devils aim for the Pac-10 title, and the Cats aim for a win against the Devils. Take a page out of Lute's book - aim for things greater than just knocking off the in-state rival... and just admit this - Tucson has a HUGE inferiority complex with Phoenix in general. I live in Tucson, and quite frankly - you shouldn't, Tucson is a great place to live - minus the freeway issue :thud:

Whoa whoa here partner hold the phone. I attended Corona Del Sol High school about ten minutes away from ASU's main campus. I frequent ASU haunts like Baers Den, Acme, Dos Gringos and Maloneys more than i had ever been too Tucson bars (lets just say i have been to all of them quite a bit actually) I have numerous friends at ASU and even attended ASU for a year. I have Tempe coarsing thru my blood bucko. In fact im not even ashamed to say the last time i really cried was after attending the 97 Rose Bowl and watching national recognition slip through the Devils grasp.....

But i graduated in 99 and went down to tucson (and besides the one year i was at ASU) it was one of the best experiences of my life. To be honest bud Tucson is a s--t-hole compared to Tempe. I always said i would never live there after i graduated and i proved by moving out to Miami....

So to counter your point I actually cheer for the Sun Devils to do well because i love the stae I am from and recognition in Tempe gets AZ as a state more love, which i am all for. But when it comes to picking sides, i f---in hate ASU. If ASU is playing SC i will cheer for ASU because my past memories and love for those old football teams i grew up on. But the minute i signed on to that dotted line i became a wildcat for life, so if we are playing you guys in anything, i want the to cut your guys throats and spit on you afterwards. Its a weird relationship i have with ASU no doubt, but i will go to to toe with an Deveils fan about the better school every day of the week. In fact at the Baers den mens bathroom I wrote BearDown Arizona really large when i was in a drunken stupor. Even across the country i represent.

Yeah a wins a win. Solid. Im saying i like ur team going into next year despite our 3-8 record. Finally we have a QB and that is the difference in Pac 10 football. But i hated Macovic when i was there and i thought Keith Smith and OJ were garbage. So im no bias homer. I know what i see and i like our coach and QB. You can have yours even though im a big Keller fasn.

So take your 6-5 season and 2005 Territorial cup and eat it up. I got bigger things on my mind and hopefully it starts next year.....

The funny thing is that Most UA fans seem to forget the 04 game already. Didn't it take ASU turning the ball over 5 Times, losing its starting QB and having no run game and a dropped pass that should have been caught for UA to barely hang on?

A rivalry game is different. Every single person who watched that game saw the mo change in the 4th and knew ASU would win. Did UA out play ASU in the first 3 quarters? Damn straight but both Tui and Bell were lost to clean hits by ASU defenders.

It doesn't matter to me how we got that win. Just the fact that we did is good enough for me. Now on to our bowl game and I hope you enjoy basketball season cause I am sure I won't.

I will conceed Walter getting hurt was much the same as Tui becasue it came of agreesive defense....BUT I think Keller is even better than Walter and Kovalchek wouldnt QB my flag football team....

And yeah 5 turnovers were caused b/c we were swarming to the ball and that game was a rout until ASU came back in the 4th. This game was in our control too but the injuries were just too much and the special teams breakdown (something devils fans know all to well..ahem LSU) was killer. Good play by Richardson though and Carpenter might be the best backup in Division 1. Still i think we should have beat you if not for Bell going down. Whatever we can debate to the end of the earth. You got the "W"

Once again enjoy your win....it just might be the last one you get for the next three years...

Scott has a valid point. I actually think the Cats played better this year against the Devils than they did last year. Unfortunately, the breaks went the Devils way in Tempe and vice versa the year before in Tucson. I'm not really worried about it, I had a feeling ASU was going to win and when Tuitama went out I basically conceeded the game.
