I am fortunate to get to “chat” with some very knowledgeable talent evaluators. A recent topic should be of interest. I am one of a few people on the board who have suggested bringing in a veteran QB behind Murray. This would provide better injury insurance and perhaps some not so subtle pressure. My initial target was Justin Fields, but it now seems likely the Steelers will let him leave. I’m not interested in Wilson, as he wants to initially compete to start. So who could the Cards bring in. It’s worth noting some teams, like Atlanta, have decided to hold on to their vet QB. The leading names advanced were Jacoby Brissett, Marcus Mariota and Jimmy Garoppolo. I like Brissett, but the pickings have become slim. Thoughts? Is it even worth it considering what’s out there?

Did you mean the Steelers will NOT let him leave?

I mentioned this before about a month ago, what about the QB selected right after Kyler was drafted... Daniel Jones? He has size and is mobile.

It’s very possible that Daniel Jones is exactly as good as Clayton Tune. It’d be worth the phone call, though.

Brissett though not spectacular seems consistent. If we are serious about getting to the playoffs we need to be ready if Murray breaks down.

Mariota is the best fit for how we played this year but I think the hope is we get better at WR and throw downfield more and that's where he's not at his best.
