Be careful how you wipe your nose.

It sounds like something a mother or father would teach their young children about regarding hygiene or keeping their clothes properly clean.

But no, we are actually talking NFL rules on this one.

Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has used the “nose wipe” as his celebration since leaving Oklahoma and becoming a Dallas Cowboys receiver in 2020. Now we learn the NFL has said enough is enough. They have learned that Lamb's "celebration" is actually conveying some sort of gang-related message that someone is not trustworthy.

But of course that means not trustworthy according to the standards and values of some modern-day gangs. The NFL has spoken, and next year, if Lamb wants to emulate and communicate the nose wipe to gangs, Lamb is going to be penalized 15 yards.

Lamb is not happy about the NFL decision and publicly on social media said, “smh [shaking my head], i have plenty in mind” with an unamused face emoji.

smh, i have plenty in mind. https://t.co/rn0OliWbb4

Twitter (X) was on fire Thursday as hundreds said the new rule is silly, childish and shows the NFL is clueless. There were many sarcastic tweets about how children seeing Lamb's nose wipe have turned into drug addicts, law breakers, etc.

Of course, that is not the issue. The issue is that each NFL player is an employee of the NFL. And the NFL has the right to say clearly that they don't want their players emulating gang mannerisms and this behavior.

Why aren't those fans asking, "Why has Lamb repeatedly wanted to imitate and copy gang-like behavior?"
