I have the Cubs v Cards game on while working around the house. FS1 doesn't have the strike zone box on during the game which I like.

Having said that, I am watching and really questioning the zone umps are using these days. Even the announcers have noted a couple knee high middle plate pitches being called balls.

I like the human part of the game but these umps really need to get better about calling pitches. The umps have a share in this downward hitting/rising strikeout trend as much as anyone

I agree the variable strike zone even with in a game it’s driving me batty to the point where I want automatic balls and strikes called electronically

I know old school fans want to keep the human element in but seriously, who wouldn't want the electronic balls and strikes and have the umps just take care of the other stuff.

Consistent with what I've posted about this in other threads, I also favor electronic ball and strike calls.

I think it's coming. Why else would MLB have allowed the use of it on TV for all fans to see how inconsistent the strike zone has become from game to game and, sometimes, inning to inning?

They're just breaking it to the umps gently. :)

I'll bet by next Spring Training, it will be done. Now if only they would adopt the DH rule in the NL, there would be consistency in MLB in 2019.
