Looks like Jerry and Sir Charles have patched things up...

It is about time. It did not seem right to have in Dan and KJ without Charles. It is nice to see him at the games again.

First of all, good morning to a fellow Gilbertonian.

I do disagree about Charles Barkley. I don't mind him being inducted into the ring of honor, but I really don't have a problem with him not being there either. He only played here for three years. The last two seasons he had back problems.

IMO this make-up with Charles Barkley is all about fan support. I'm sure it was one of the leading suggestions when they did that request web site. It's probably driving Jerry Colangelo crazy to have to be nice to him. :)

I disagree. I think both Barkley and Jerry have wanted to make up for some time, and both realize they were both to blame for how their relationship soured. But since they both seem to be stuborn people neither was going to be the 1st to make ammends. I think the credit for this decision should go to Dan Majerle who got these 2 to make up before his induction into the ring last year.

True, I wouldn't disagree that there is a JC benefit to making up - but I do disagree w/your "only 3 yrs" comment.

Maybe he was here for only 3 yrs but during those 3 suns basketball had the city going nuts like never before. Pay-per-view games, constant sellouts, cars w/Suns bumper stickers and signs.

He was probably this cities first legit superstar athlete.

My opinion is simply this:

The Phoenix Suns team led by Charles Barkley was the best team in NBA history to never win an NBA title.

He brought passion and drama to this franchise and enfused the team when they needed it most. They moved into a new building and I feel he single handedly made lifelong Suns fans out of people all over this state, if not over the whole world.

He deserves the honor

Barkley played here 4 years/seasons.

Great to see the man getting up there. No player I'd rather watch then Barkley. He did it all. On and off the court.

I stand corrected. Charles Barkley did play with the Phoenix Suns for four seasons (92-93 through 95-96). Who did they lose two in that last season's playoffs?

I think you guys have also convinced me that he belongs in the Ring of Honor.

Although Chuck's behavior is outrageous at times, it turned the Suns into something they had never been before or after . . . until the trade for White a few days ago -- powerful.

That, his MVP award, and a legitimate shot at a Championship during his 4-year tenure earned him, I believe, this recognition.

His years as a Phoenix Sun were memorable.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the same way that Curt Schilling's rather short tenure with the D'backs (if last season wasn't his last with the club, next season unfortunately will be).

His number will belong on the fence along with R.J. and Gonzo, just as Barkley's face belongs in the rafters with the long-termers Davis and Adams.

Houston, Mario Elie, Robert Horry and Sam Cassell dominated us....then they joined us

Man is my memory bad. I know they lost to Chicago in the finals to end the 1992-03 season. I thought they lost the next two seasons to the Houston Rockets. Did the Rockets take out the Suns three years in a row?

Finley missed that entire series. We would've won if we'd had him. ;)
