An indivual sport played within a team concept. And no clock to slow the game down. Yes, I know, baseball is slow enough as it is.
But you're right Ryanwb, it is great to watch and be part of.
Living in New Jersey as a pre-teenager in the '50's, my emotions lived and died with the Dodgers. Their one World Championship in '55 was special! When Walter O'Malley moved them to the Coast in 1958, it shattered me.
When the Mets were born in the '60's (incorporating Dodger blue with Giants orange -- and all that tradition), and climbed from Casey Stengel's turning baseball into a joke to the Miracle Mets of '69, and into the '70's, the feeling was back.
When I moved to Phoenix 25 years ago, my loyalty returned to the Dodger blue and trips to Dodger Stadium.
Then, our Diamondbacks. Baseball excellence in a very short time.
And now, the excitement of winning baseball after a slow start . . . and all those rookies. Rebuilding right before our eyes, and not missing a beat!
Yes, Ryanwb, it is great to watch and be part of!
