Saw this in this morning's paper:

Baseball

Arizona is ranked 16th and Arizona State is 18th in the Baseball America preseason poll released Monday.

The Sun Devils were ranked No. 7 and the Wildcats 22nd in the Collegiate Baseball poll two weeks ago.

The Baseball America poll has defending champion Rice at No. 1, followed by Louisiana State, Miami, Cal State Fullerton and Georgia Tech.

ASU is coming off a 54-14 season, advancing to within one game of the College World Series. Arizona is coming off a 35-23 season that culminated in its first postseason appearance since 1999.

The Pac-10 has only three teams represented in the Baseball America poll, with 2003 College World Series runner-up Stanford at No. 6.

I can't wait for the baseball season to start up again. Hopefully this will be there year that ASU's Omaha drought ends! If not, its time to get rid of Murphy.

Andy Lopez has really turned things around. If the young pitchers can produce the UofA should do very well. Losing Anderson hurts but with most of the offense back they should score a lot of runs.

A Super Regional for the UofA! I was thinking this would happen next year with such a young team but Lopez has them believing.

ASU will miss out on the College World Series for a school-record sixth consecutive year.
I still can't believe that...

Not even a Super Regional....

Yet again our season ends at the hands of the Titans. And all Murphy has to say is something to the effect of, "there is no shame in losing to a great program like Cal State." That alone should be enough to show him the door.
