Basketball and spring stars: Vote for the Guardian Foundation Repair boys athlete of the week

It's voting time again and you can choose the Guardian Foundation Repair boys athlete of the week in the Knoxville area for March 10-15.

This week's list includes Tennessee high school basketball players who helped their teams secure TSSAA boys basketball state tournament berth after sectional wins last Monday. This list also includes baseball and boys soccer players as the spring season enters its third week.

Here are this week's candidates.

Bryson Allen, Lakeway Christian: Allen was 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs in a 9-3 win over Loudon. Allen was also 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a 13-6 win over Seymour last Thursday. He was 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a 10-7 win over Unicoi County last Friday.

Hudson Burnett, Halls: Brunett crushed a grand slam with four RBIs as Halls dominated Cumberland County 20-1 on Saturday.

JJ Caudill, Greenback: Caudill pitched a five-inning perfect game, striking out 14 of 15 batters, including 14 batters in a row. Caudill was also 3-for-4 at the plate last Monday.

Felipe Evans, Grace Christian: Evans had a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win over Catholic last Thursday. He had a hat trick and an assist in a 6-0 win over Knoxville Christian last Tuesday.

Jake Harris, Farragut: Harris had three RBIs and a double in Farragut's 18-6 win over Grace Christian last Tuesday.

Jay Kirk, Alcoa: Kirk had 20 points to lead Alcoa to a 86-73 win over Kingston during the TSSAA 4A sectional last Monday. The win earned Alcoa a berth in the 2025 boys state tournament that will be played this week.

Trey Thompson, Greeneville: Thompson had 30 points, 13 rebounds and three steals to lead Greeneville past Carter, 55-51, in the 3A sectional last Monday.

Peyton Witter, Oak Ridge: Witter had six hits with two home runs and seven RBIs while batting .462 for the week last week.
