Crazy TNT contracts...

Shaq 10M/year
Kenny 16M/year
Chuck 10M/year
EJ 5M/year

Shaq the least deserving, some takes are just awful. The latest being the Jokic MVP comments, just pure jealously imo.

Figured this is best here since it is semi-related. Barkley says he's done after the next season when the NBA deal is up with TNT..

I saw that on NBA TV tonight. good for him. I wonder how much this has to do with him being ready to stop working for good vs. the contract situation. IDK. I can't say I blame him either way. I do like inside the NBA. It won't be the same without Barkley though. I will miss them making fun of chuck all the time. that's my favorite thing about the show.

Ill be surprised if he does retire. He's said similar things before, about when he'll retire. Maybe this is it since TNT appears to be losing the NBA but I think someone will back the Bricks truck up and get him to do something.

yeah I thought he would announce that on the TNT set as well given that he has a relationship with those people. It seemed kind of odd to announce it on NBA TV. but IDK, maybe he's doing that to get a better deal. Charles can be an idiot in his analysis at times, but he is the starlet of that show and he probably has the most negotiating power of all the members aside from perhaps ernie. I've heard that they make a lot of money.

TNT’s intention to go after Amazon means that NBC is in the clear to join incumbent ABC/ESPN as a new partner when the deals are officially announced. NBC will have regular-season games exclusively on Peacock on Mondays, with NBC broadcasts on Tuesdays and Sundays. The Sunday package will begin after the NFL season. NBC will have the All-Star Game and a full slate of playoff games, including six conference finals. It is expected to pay around $2.5 billion per season over the 11 years.

TNT will match Amazon to retain rights to keep NBA coverage long term.

"Now Hakeem used to tell me this all the time ---"
"Kenny, bring me some water."

Sums up the Jet as a player and a broadcaster. Barkley should get the highest wages no doubt. He is a national treasure for you lot.
Can't wait until these guys are using canes to race to the big scree, er, hologram in the back of the studio.

I might have come across a bit harsh. Kenny is quite okay on TV. I am still hurt and bitter that we did not get past them with KJ and Barkley.

Goodbye TNT.

I would have to imagine that ratings will go down. Not everybody is going to add an Amazon Prime membership to watch the NBA. TNT is packaged with many services already. Either that or a ton more games will be simulcasted to offset that.

I wouldn’t be too sure. Cord cutters didn’t have access to TNT.

I have the local channels including channel 3 in Arizona, plus TNT and ESPN on DirecTV satellite.

Recently I lost access to NBA TV on my package. I hope that is enough to follow the Suns.
