Anyone here anxious for Battlestar Galactica series to start on SciFi?

At first wasn't to thrilled with all the changes they made but it was still pretty good. I still feel they changed to much of the story but I'm willing to adapt to the new storyline.

Ugh...no way! I can handle tweeks...but to replace starbuck with a woman is just...just...not right!

If they were going to replace anyone with a woman it should have been Appolo. He was way too "sensitive."

Did anyone watch this series? I loved the original as a kid so I had to watch this one. It's way different from the original and kind of goofy but I eventually got hooked.

Yes I'm a geek so don't waste your breath. 8)

I watched every single episode, so I guess that makes me an even bigger geek

I got over Starbuck being a woman, and I think the actress plays the role well.

It's an ongoing series, Chaz. Season one just wrapped up a couple of weeks ago. Season two kicks off in July. You can see reruns of season one's episodes every Friday night at 10 I believe. Also, SciFi will be showing the miniseries that kicked this new series off sometime this month.

It's easily my favorite non-network show.

Thanks, I saw when it was on before and have seen a few of the reruns lately.
It looks good, I was hoping to see the whole thing from the beginning.

I loved the original when I was a kid.

The part I found hard to stomach was the Cylon Raider ships. Basically a Cylon head with wings. Looks kind of stupid, but once I got past that I really enjoyed the series so far.

I love this series. It's awesome.

Great cinematography, hotties, good storyline (I too loved watching the reruns of the old one as a young kid in the early 80's)

They even have the old apollo on as sort of like a 60's vietnam protestor type person.. (no not with long hippie hair or anything, but like a radical spokesperson who bombed a governement building, and was in jail...)

I'm glad they gave him a recurring part because for the past 10-15 years or whatever he was trying to spearhead a project to get a new battlestar galactica series. He was developing the series, and computer graphics clips of how he wanted to see it become...basically how he would do it.) Instead, sci-fi kind of burned him and went with someone else. So I'm glad once again they gave him a part.

I've been a stargate fan for a long time now, and it is easily a 1 (stargate), 1A (battlestar galactica) rating from me.

If you watch the miniseries, you'll see how it started, and will be hooked. If you like any sci-fi, then you'll like this.

The Sci-Fi Channel showed last season's episodes yesterday to prep the launch of the new season.

I never thought I'd like it, being a fan of the old show and all, but I got hooked.

On Monday, there's an hourlong show to promote the new seasons of Battlestar Galactica, Stargate: SG-1, and Stargate: Atlantis.

It looks like all 3 might be on Fridays on Sci-Fi...

About a month ago, I watched the miniseries and season one over the span of three days. For the most part I really liked it, although I am not that fond of the way they constructed the Dr. Baltar character. I would watch season 2, but I don't have cable. :(

Yea, I just watched the miniseries last night.

It was very good. I had seen quite a bit of it as well as parts of season 1 before but I wanted to watch the entire thing.

It seems like am destined to be behind the times as usual.

Maybe I can watch season 1 and then catch season 2 in reruns before season 3 starts.

Battlestar Galactica Renewed for Third Season
Source: SCI FI Channel

SCI FI Channel has renewed its original series Battlestar Galatica for a third season. One of television's most critically-acclaimed shows, "Galactica" is part of the Channel's troika of hit dramas that make SCI FI the #1 cable destination for P18-49 and P25-54 on Friday nights. Production on the 20-episode order is slated to begin in Vancouver in February 2006 for premiere later in the year.

The series entire ensemble cast returns for the new season, including Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. Also returning are executive producer and writer Ronald D. Moore and executive producer David Eick.

Battlestar Galatica is the gripping saga of humanity's last remnants and their struggle to find a new home while fleeing from their deadly Cylon enemies. Redefining the space opera with its gritty realism, Galactica has distinguished itself by the intensity and present day relevance of its stories and the command performances of its ensemble cast. The series confronts everything from religion, politics and sex, to what it really means to be "human."

Currently in its second original season, "Galactica" has struck a chord with audiences, who have made it one of the most talked about series on television. New episodes will return on Friday, January 6, 2006 as part of the Winter Premiere of 'SCI FI Friday.'

Battlestar Galactica is from NBC Universal Television Studio.

Finally watched the mini-series and enjoyed it. Obviously, i never watched the original, so I don't have many complaints...but I like the idea of it...

Going to rent season 1 shortly...

Mike
