Week after week LSU has hung on by the skin of their teeth. Now they lose to an unranked Arkansas team and they're still ranked #7!?!?

Kansas Missouri and Oklahoma have had the benefit of playing in a WEAK conference meanwhile the PAC ten has self destructed.

I don't care what the computers say, until they come up with some sort of playoff system any method they use to pick a "National Champion" is a joke.

How many times have we seen a team with several losses win the NCAA Basketball tourney? That's because its not the team that has the best record its the team that is the best at the end of the season that is the deserved champ. And its decided on the court not by Eastern media CLOWNS!!!

While I completly agree with the need for a playoff, I am very excited about the possibility of a WVU vs OSU/Mizzou national title game...cant wait!!!

BCS is a joke! I'm no LSU fan but I find it amazing that Virginia Tech is ahead of them even though LSU killed them earlier (both teams have two losses).

WVU and Ohio State are proving that in today's football landscape the best way to a championship is to play as weak a schedule as possible (Hawaii seems to be the exception to the rule). Look for even more dreadful OOC matchups in the future.

Huh? Their OOC this year was Miss St, Maryland, and ECU - all going to bowls. The only team they played that was Really subpar was Western Michigan. (I dont count Marshall b/c WVU HAS to play them every year for the next 10 years - Govenor set it up...ridiculous really)

By the way, Pot meet kettle...Murray St and Middle Tennessee St?? Wow

You missed the point. Wasn't pointing fingers at WVU - it seems to me that poor scheduling has become a strategy that most powers adopt in hopes of getting to the NC game. This year's results seem to support that.

That is no more evident than in the Big 10. Michigan bought out Hawaii and picked up Appalachian State. Backfire.

Wow, Michigan/Hawaii would have been a very interesting great game. Hawaii's offense is extremely good. Wouldn't it be great if they were paired in a bowl game?

The thing that really bugs about the Big 10 and the Pac 10 is they seem to be the main culprits in holding back a possible playoff or even a +1 game. Their selfish allegiance to the Rose Bowl is a problem.

Ka ching. $$$$$$ Big 10(11) gets 7 bowls if the teams qualify with 6 wins. That blows. TV ratings and who travels best with fans.

Gotcha...I know the Big East does take some hits about OOC scheduling but I also know that some of the "Big" SEC teams WVU tried to play int he last few years, backed out. I am sure it is the same with Louisville, Rutgers, etc. Hell Auburn replaced a home and home with WVU 2 years ago with South Florida-woops-Big Mistake!

Wally, you're obsession with the Big 10's bowl bids is kinda pathetic. You do realize that ALL the major conferences are like that, don't you? Big 12 and SEC have EIGHT bowl bids, ACC as well. Even the C-USA has six. And the one good-team Big East has FIVE bids, which leaves only three teams without a guaranteed bid. The Big 10 has 10 teams that qualify for bowl bids.

Yes, it's the most anti-climactic post season in sports. A yawn festival until you finally get to the handful of games that deserve the attention.

I always love college football in September, but it starts pissing me off around mid November.

I could say your love affair/obsession with the Big 10 is pathetic, but I would never do that. I am a college football fan and really enjoy seeing the wealth and attention spread around. I could provide plenty of background showing the Big 10 might not deserve the attention they receive, but it would be wasted effort. Wouldn't it?
