Smart to sit him. But I don't think there is a snow balls chance in hell of him being the opening day starter now unless Hightower just flat out sucks.

I expect the same thing to happen with Wells as it did with DRC. By mid season, Wells should be the starter as long as Hightower isn't dominating.

It doesn't matter much who the starter is. As long as Hightower and Wells are both healthy and productive, they both should get plenty of carries. We don't need to see last year again where the running game is totally abandoned.

Agreed. We needs Wells to be healthy so he can get some reps and get comfortable. I am excited to hear that Hightower looks good. Our best case scenario is for both backs to be strong and productive so we can keep them both fresh, healthy, and energized. I am excited about our backfield this year.

I'm there.

Hightower truly is practicing lights out. It's like you're watching Marion Barber out there. You can bet I'm picking him up for my fantasy team.

Glad that its not serious. Main thing is to be ready for the start of the season. As many on the board have stated; Hightower will be the starter and Wells will work his way into the lineup.

I am out-of-my-mind worried about this. Running backs+ankle injuries=NOT GOOD! Probably the position most affected by ankle sprains. UGH!

Does he wear hi-yops for his weak ankles? If not, why not?/ Let's get john lott to do more lower leg strengthening with him-- those ankles could be his achilles heel!! I'm sure Lott is working on that with him .., I guess there's not much you can do when you get rolled up on..

All of this news about Hightower busting his ass getting ready for the season is starting to excite me, hopefully Beanie's ankle recovers and we have both of them healthy and playing well throughout the season.

Watching Hightower's runs against the Eagles on the NFL Network replays makes me much less concerned about BWells ankle. Unless of course Hightower knocks himself out running over defensive backs.

Marion Barber the #2 RB, or Marion Barber the Starter. I only ask because Marion Barber as a starter stunk up the joint. The guy as a starter didnt have the magic he had as the #2 RB the previous two seasons.

All I can say is that he is more cut physically than last year. He is in much better shape and he wasnt in bad shape last year.(although he said he was) You can see that he is VERY confident and he is running very hard. Nothing to say other than he looks damn good.

Wells isn't doing much to break the knock against him, nor is any team regretting passing on him in the first round at this point.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but a week into camp and here we are already

We need to be ready with a 4th back. Vincent? Howling? I don't know. But we need somebody in the wings.

Guys, you all need to mellow...

We almost won a super bowl last year without Beanie!

This year, Hightower is back with a year under his belt and in better shape than he was last season!

Edge provided a nice boost in the post season last year, but he wasn't a gamebreaker was he?? I mean, between the committee we have in camp right now, I am not at all concerned about a rookie who banged up his ankle the first day in camp...

Now, if you told me Hightower went down, or Fitz, or Kurt, or A-Dub, or Dansby, or Dockett, or Levi, or Deuce... then I'd be worried. But Beanie?? C'mon man...

You can say that for every team and every rookie in the league right now, not just the Cards or Beanie. No one has even had a chance to regreat anything yet.

Still wondering where this injury thing about him in college came from. The guy missed 3 games in 3 years, and even played games with broken bones.

The questions surrounding him weren't based upon how many games he played, rather how many he played at full strength. It seemed, last season especially, that he was a question mark leading up to each game. Playing with broken bones isn't exactly an ideal situation.
