The 2025 NFL draft is just days away, and the Chicago Bears are sitting in a prime position at 10th overall to land an impact contributor.
After an offseason that included shoring up the offensive and defensive trenches, the Bears have flexibility with how they can use the No. 10 pick -- best available rather than drafting for need. While Chicago has been linked to offensive lineman Will Campbell, there are also skill position players that have been discussed for new head coach Ben Johnson -- in fact, one in particular.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the belief around the NFL is that the Bears are "praying" that Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty falls to them at 10th overall.
Is there a chance? Of course. But the biggest obstacle will be the Las Vegas Raiders, who are sitting at sixth overall and have been connected to Jeanty for a while now.
But it's fair to wonder: If Chicago is really that high on Jeanty, would they entertain potentially trading up with the Jacksonville Jaguars at fifth overall to jump the Raiders? And if the Bears are suddenly picking at No. 5 and someone like Mason Graham is still on the board, would that change the approach?
It's all a matter of how the board falls, especially with Shedeur Sanders, who could be a Top 10 selection or could even fall into the teens. Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou was mentioned as a possibility for the Raiders. For a team with a lot of holes, would they prioritize a running back over a tackle?
The Bears will certainly have to play the waiting game when the first round gets underway on Thursday night. But Jeanty falling to No. 10 wouldn't be the craziest thing to happen.

There are multiple personnel people who believe the Bears are praying that Jeanty slips to them at No. 10. They think new Bears coach Ben Johnson could feature Jeanty and D'Andre Swift as a two-headed duo the way the Lions did with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs when Johnson was Detroit's offensive coordinator.
