Beasley in the Amare role?

It is very, very clear that Beasley is horrible @ the 3. He had the most success as an undersized PF in Miami. Is there any reason that the Suns haven't put him in the Amare role? (Running the P&R with Dragic and either cutting to the hoop or spotting up for an open jumper.) Seems like he could have some success in this role. He's fairly athletic and should be able to exploit some of the slower PF's. Similar to Amare.

Defensively he'd be pretty similar as well. In other words, awful. But he's awful at the 3 defensively. So what does it matter?

Scola is playing well enough to keep him from the 4 slot.

Yes, but he should be the backup and help with bench scoring imo. The problem is that we don't have a pure SF on the roster anymore. WJ isn't really a 3, Brown isn't a 3. I guess Dudley is the closest we have to a 3, but he's pretty slow and can't really get to the rim. If we start Beasley at the 4 and have Scola come in to relieve Beasley that would relegate Morris to spot minutes, and that is perfectly fine with me. The less minutes for Kieff the better.

Are you advocating for a return to 7SOL? Dragic-Dudley-Brown-Beasley-Gortat and when it's time for bench mob a more traditional halfcourt set with Bassy-Dudley/Brown-Tucker-Scola-O'Neal.

Dragic / Brown / Dudley / Beasley / Gortat

Telfair / Johnson / Tucker / Scola / O'neal

I know that kind of squeezes Morris out of the rotation. And Johnson at the 2 is a question mark. Why didn't they bring back Redd? He'd be the perfect replacement for Johnson in this type of lineup.

I think I'm going to side with the people on Bright Side. Brown and Beasley together in the starting lineup would be just awful. So strike that...

Replace Beasley with Tucker, and Dudley with Brown in the starting lineup. See if we can get something out of Beasley when he plays against other teams' reserves.

dragic would never get the ball back, either would probably take the rebound and try to score. please just give the ball to goran and let him run the offense. they keep killing our offensive flow when they do crap like that.

I'm for this as well. But him and Morris together would like dumb and dumber...

Morris needs to not be playing. Or at least playing in the D League or something. Just as long as it isn't on the Suns.

That's a little extreme.

He's getting better. </Monty Python>

This is the other alternative that I like.

Still, I really like what Scola is doing but it'd be interesting to see what Beasley can do with some time @ the 4.

Beasley is what he is. Maybe benching him and making him the 6th man so he doesn't get exploited by intelligent starting lineups might be a good idea. He's too liable on defense to be a starter.

My lineup

Gortat
Scola
Dudley
Brown
Dragic

Beasley
Telfair
Morris
Tucker
O'Neal

That's not an argument. Besides, you've got it easy. I live in a cardboard box in the middle of the freeway.

Luxury! Try cleaning a lake at 3 in the morning and eating nothing but hot gravel. No one expects a Monty Python Quote-off.

Ha! OK, that was fun but I'm stopping now or I won't be able to stop myself.

(Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Know what I mean?)

Say no more, say no more. And now for something completely different, we return you to our original topic.

I'm not sure that Beasley moved to the PF spot does much for us. I don't think he's killing us all that badly on offense. He does some good things and he does some bad things. The big problem is his lack of awareness on D and I don't see that changing in a new position.

I think it would force better shot selection by him getting the ball closer to the hoop. I suppose in the sense that we have a lot of players playing poorly offensively he isnt alone in killing us, but he has been horrible so far on the offensive end.

Its hard to exagurate how poorly he is playing. He and Morris have been 2 of the worst rotation players in the entire league so far this year.

Do you have anything you'd like to say to Mr. Morris, carey?

Not only that, he's probably going to have to say it on more than one forum? :) I've been pretty soured on Morris also until his recent turnaround. I'm not ready to proclaim him great or anything like that but he has played much smarter and with far greater intensity since moving into the starting lineup.

He evidently wouldn't have moved into the starting lineup if the coaches didn't like what they saw in practice and the progress he made.

I guess we'll have to take the coaches' opinions seriously, huh! :D
