Michael Beasley passed like he never had before Friday night in Los Angeles.

And the Suns forward is shooting almost as poorly as he ever has for a 10-game stretch.

There is some reason for both. Beasley said he has been affected by a sprained pinkie finger on his left (shooting) hand since he starred in the preseason finale with 29 points and 10 rebounds.

“I can’t really bend it,” Beasley said. “It gets numb, and I get hit at least twice a game. I just go through that pain. I’ll get through it. I did the same thing two years ago, and it just got better. I can’t really grip the ball like I want to in my shooting hand. That’s probably why I’m passing so much.”

Beasley made 53 percent of his 3-pointers and 46 percent of his field goals in a seven-game preseason but was shooting 27.3 percent from 3-point range and 35.6 percent overall entering Saturday night’s game.

In Friday night’s loss to the Lakers, Beasley set a career high with nine assists but still took 15 shots, making six.

“I was just making the logical decision and playing the game of basketball, as long as I’m aggressive and confident in my shot,” Beasley said.

Explains why he was pretty good in pre season and struggling in the regular season.

Also that no one bothers to defend in the preseason and during the regular season he is regularly dribbling into double teams and shooting anyway.

But I bet you're right. The preseason shows who the true player is and the rest of his career is the fluke.

What?

When the hell did I say that?

Listen man, if you don't like Beasley, cool story bro. Just don't respond to a thread about him then ok? You do enough hating on him in the game day threads.

lol... short memory.
Are you blind? Where did I say that pre season shows who the true player is and that the rest of his career is a fluke?

All I said was that Beasley probably isn't playing as well he was in pre season because of his injury.

lol, you said "Explains why he was pretty good in pre season and struggling in the regular season".

That logic ignores that he has struggled in EVERY season. The preseason typically tells you absolutely nothing.

Its not really worth debating, but dont throw around "are you blind" jabs because you are unable to apply logic to your own statements.

Haha you really want to try and explain "logic" to me? Hahaha that just made my day.

The same guy who goes out of his way to hate on Beasley....Hahaha!

And this year was the best pre season he ever had. So that is what made me think that the injury is perhaps what made him not play as well in the regular season.

I don't care what he's done prior to this year. He's a Sun now and I care about what he's done for us. If you think otherwise, then too bad :biglaugh:

I mean... I could if you want... you clearly need some help on the topic. Do you really want to go over the track record when you and I have disagreed so far?

I care about what Beasley has done as a Sun... and so far he has been a disaster. And I dont really have to go out of my way to hate on him. All I have to do is apply factual data when viewing him as a player. Really, one has to go very far out of their way to come up with a scenario where he is anything but awful.

But you let me know when you're ready for a logic lesson. I can help you side step future prediction mistakes... like when you thought we would draft Rivers... get Eric Gordon... that Beasley would be good... that the Suns would be a playoff team... You know, all those things I tried to warn you about. :D

I still think if we had gotten Eric Gordon, he probably wouldn't be faking injury or getting injured in the first place under Aaron Nelson. And I never said Beasley would be good.

And yea I said the Suns would be a playoff team. Shame on me for having faith in the team I root for! And last I checked the Suns have not been eliminated from the playoffs yet bud.

Your "arguments" or whatever is your biased hatred. I have certain players I hate too, but I don't constantly use every chance I get to hate on the player. Beasley is a Sun and he was signed by us. Obviously the FO thinks he's good, hence why we signed him.

I'm sure Robert Sarer, Lon Babby and Lance Banks all have much higher education than you and know more about the business of basketball than you. So deal with it.

Funny thing is that I probably would be posting more negative things about Beasley if it weren't for you. You hating on him is kinda making me like him.

The important thing, guys, is that there is now medical justification for moving Beasley to the second unit.

His injury really needs to heal already. He's been playing awful. Either that or bench him til he's completely healthy.

Beasley has talent but has underachived. He has a big upside but falls way short of his potential. That being said sit him down until he is healthy and put PJ in the starting line up. PJ is playing great

How about he sits permanently, because his widdle finger being healthy isnt going to make him any better than the trash player he was before he got here. His finger is no excuse for being the worst defender the Suns have had in ages... and that is saying something.

2nd worst. IMO, he's better than Warrick but he's playing next to Scola who is also a horrible defender so his weak play is magnified by the horrendous combo.

Either way, it's a good time to drop him from the starting lineup, especially with the emergence of Tucker as a shooter as well as defender. Beasley has already been dropped from the finishing lineup. We're half-way there.
