Not the obvious which is he has lost a step but he no longer wraps up when he tackles. He once had the best technique I ever saw and now he hardly wraps up, it's as if he is playing with a shoulder injury... he is playing either very sloppy or tentative when making contact in my opinion

I noticed the same thing. Tenacious ballcarriers like Miller tend to bounce off Ty's tackles after contact. He also gets run-away-from too often on slants.

Many players tend to relax once they get paid. They usually get hungry when it's time again to get paid. He use to have a chip on his shoulder. That has disappeared. The technique he had was great cover for his faults. That seems to be gone now.

Mathieu learned this from the best: Patrick Peterson. You get to collect big paychecks and let the other guys do the tackling. Oh and say to the media that you are the best in the game at your position.

Jesus... this is complete speculation that I’ll just call stupidity since it’s literally backed up by nothing except your irrational disdain for Peterson.

Mathieu isn’t physical anymore because he plays scared, IMO.

Didn't he also once have a shoulder injury to go along with his knees? And they all seem to be showing, though there is also a part of me which say Bettcher is part of his problem and other players too because I honestly believe he would be playing a lot better if he simply just had his coach back from LSU, opposed to a coach which I do not see these guys seeing any authority in and therefore do not bother to listen to him

Isn’t most everything around here just speculation since none of us know them personally?

Didn’t you just speculate?

I speculate that the pot just called the kettle black.

I am pretty sure Mathieu knows there is big difference between their positions and what makes them special or rather what once made him special. When I think of the 'Honey Badger", I always think of him stopping that guy short of the first down marker and I am sure he wants to still be that guy too. I think like Cheese says, he is plays scare and he actually probably has good cause to after his injuries but it does not help the Cardinals

Jesus Christ, can you stop with this weird hatred for Peterson? It’s really sad at this point.

I realized right after the post that I was a total hypocrite with my post. I’ve never claimed to be anything but an idiot!

I think you're right Mitch! This staff isn't teaching the way it used to or as you say or they are being tuned out.

Cheese so much is wrong with this "talented" team. Why else has Badger along with others that we know can play forgotten how?

Behind you
I see the second he gets blocked he gives up. He's obviously WAY slower than he was. He's nothing more than a nickel CB at this point.

Keim NEVER should have paid him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don't hand a HUGE contract to a guy who has an ACL tear and NOT recovered AND another year left on his deal.

Keim signed Badger on a 'your my friend' deal. There was no logical reason to do it. I have never seen this done EVER! A guy has a recent ACL and they get a big deal...never!

Budda is the future. I just saw that he got 99.9 rating on PFF. Not sure how many rookies have done that for first game as a starter?

Top flight shut down corners do not tackle much. Safeties tackle all the time. Totally different positions.

Right now Mathieu is playing for he possibility of being offered a pay cut to stay with the team, because if he doesn't improve, they may just cut him and not offer to bring him back at any price.

Budda Baker keeps playing the way he is, and Mathieu is out of a position.
