Since we are at that time of the season where the sweet release of turning off the TV seems so appealing... I thought it would be fun to discuss my other love, Beer!

What beer tastes best mixed with Cardinal induced tears? What beer do you enjoy drinking while watching the game? What beer(s) at SDS should be embraced/avoided? That one is for the lucky ones who go to the games.

My personal favorite is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I'm a fan of bitter beers. How about the rest of you? If you don't drink alcohol, what other beverages hit the spot?

I start the season with Mike's Hard Cranberry because it is Cardinal Red. I call it my Cardinal Kool Aid. But about the mid point of the season with the Cards once again out of the playoffs and most games real stinkers I switch to Fat Tire Ale. Drinking Fat Tire for Cards games was something I picked up at the Vine several years ago from old Cards Corner poster PDonaldo.

Hey Don, if you are out there give me a shout.

This year though has been so disappointing I'm going with Crown and Coke for Cardinal games.

That's brewed right up the street from here (okay, it's not a street, it's a highway, and it's about 65 miles)!

I had Kilt Lifter at the place outside the BOB before a D-Backs game a couple years ago. good stuff. Bud Select didn't do it for me the 1 time I had a warm can. Have you tried Arrogant Bastard or any of the Stone Brewery's beers? I highly recommend them. Especially the Ruination Pale Ale, so named because it destroys your tastebuds with all its wonderful Hops.

Although my newfound favorite is Peroni.

Is that the beer in a green bottle with a Sicilian looking dude on the label?

Didn't know that was a Colorado product. Loveland area? That's where my brother lives.

He flys to PHX all the time from Denver on some really cheap Frontier fares.

In fact we'll be playing golf together in Phoenix the weekend of the Skins game. Which is kind of appropriate.

Hmm. Never heard of Peroni, I'll have to check it out. Is it Italian?

Yeah it's Italian. It's like their Budweiser. Discovered it over in Europe this summer. You can get it at most Italian restaurants and AJ's. Highly recommend it.

I don't know about the Sicilian dude Jake, but yes the bottle is green. Can't miss it.

Favorite beer?

All time favorite: Free beer.

Next is: what's on sale.

After that: Cheap.

I really don't care......it's friggin' beer!!

My usual standby though is Bud Light.

or whatever. :D

At the games we drink Aquafina water (which we bring).

At home - Mountain Dew, Diet Coke, or Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.

Whenever you asked a friend of mine what kind of beer he liked, his stock answer was always "cold". :D

That's the stuff. I ask for it every time I go to an Italian Restaurant. Most don't have it but every once in a while one will.

At home - Mountain Dew, Diet Coke, or Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.

 I think Beer would probably be better for you. There are finally some decent tasting non-alcoholic brews available.

Budweiser, Mich lite. I guess it runs in the family. I think it all started when my great grandmother was August Bush's nanny. The family has been drinking Anheuser Busch products ever since. :D
