Pretty intense.

BIM, you will recognize my friend (and star of Gameface) Nazanin Boniadi playing the female lead.

How creative, another remake!

Ben Hur, done that! :p

In all honesty though....This one I might pay to see, I'll wait for initial reviews.

It least it isn't a movie from 10 years ago being remade.

Just hope that it will be good. Wonder how Charlton Heston if he were alive today, would have be clapping his hands in agreement?!

I would think he would be as enthusiastic as Gene Wilder was with the "Wonka" remake.

Regardless of it's quality.

I hope the music from the preview is nothing like what is in the film. It always bugs me when period movies have modern rock soundtracks.

I'm of the belief that there are certain movies you simply do not remake because the originals are such classics. Ben Hur, Ten Commandments, Gone with the Wind, Citizen Kane, The Godfather to name a few. I consider such movies sacrosanct.

I never seen Ben Hur, but is this a remake or a whole totally different plot?

Holy crap, the 1959 film is 3 1/2 hours? Wow!

One of the many "epic" films like Ten Commandments, Greatest Show on Earth, Lawrence of Arabia, Sparticus and the like from the 50's and 60's. There is also a silent version of Ben Hur.

For a period of about 5-6 years back in the 90s, Ben-Hur was my favorite movie.

And then I saw Seven Samurai.

Is it worth seeing Ben Hur? Is it just such an old movie now that it might be more cheesy? I just don't want to waste 3 1/2 hours if it's not worth it.

I saw a scene on YouTube the was a hour long of them just rowing(didn't watch the whole thing, fast forward to the end and they were still in the boat rowing). Is that the kind of stuff the movie has, just endless scenes of stuff that didn't need to be endless?

Absolutely worth it. The chariot race alone is still one of the greatest action scenes in cinema history.

I'm not sure what you're talking about the rowing. That is a part of the movie, but it's not very long, and it ends in a ship battle that tears the ships apart.

She was the female lead in the first movie I edited and produced.

A film which BIM and Mrs. BIM saw at Dances With Films. #gameface #laemmle

Can't believe that was over 9 years ago. That was a lot of fun.

Wasn't the Charlton Heston Ben Hur a remake of a silent film of the same name?

Wouldn't surprise me. I believe I heard in one recent review (by Chris Stuckman) that this is the 6th version of Ben-Hur which has been released.
