Now I like this option far more than Blount.

This is one I can agree with, he would be better than Grice or Williams right off the bat.

We are in desperate need of this. We are killing Ellington. Please bring him in.

Has to be an option for us. Wouldn't be surprised to see we get him in the next few hours...

I get they have 2 other RBs that aren't bad, but why drop Tate? He was great for them when they allowed him to get time. Is it because he is injury prone or they just wanted to move on with the muddy backfield?

He was publicly grousing about his role on the team. He would do the same here with Ellington.

There is no way they are bringing a malcontent who is worried about his stats onto this team. It is against everything the Cards have done this year.

Tate has to got through the waiver wire process and Cards pick 32nd.

Mike Jurecki ‏@mikejurecki
Ben Tate will be subject to waivers right now the Cardinals would have the 32nd overall pick. (9-1)

Kent Somers ‏@kentsomers
Iim doubtful #azcardinals put a claim in on Tate. wasn't happy being a backup in Cleveland

I agree. Should have realized there was a reason they cut him.

Reports are that he's very displeased with his role.

His has a $750,000 roster bonus based on # of games active.

His base salary takes a leap next year to $2.2M in base with the same 750,000 roster.

My guess is that Keim waits 48 hours. Let him clear waivers so his exiting contract is voided - then signs him. If he's malcontent and clears waivers then no team want him as a starter. This is a nice place for Tate to proof that he can produce. Works/worked for Dansby/Cro/Kelly/Abraham/Foote.

I can't see him complaining now because he doesn't have job. I bet he would be in open arms to come to us right now, with the record and team we have. I wouldn't want to be in Cleveland either! :p

Very interesting. We do need him, but as a role that would resemble the same as he was in Cleveland. We are a better team and I could see him being ok with the role behind Ellington.

I haven't heard anything from him. Where did you see it?

Tate said last week "I'd be lying" if he said he was happy with the three-back committee employed in a Nov. 6 win over Cincinnati, where West got 26 of the Browns' 52 carries.

I think he could have a role here. A rest of the season deal here I bet he would keep his mouth shut for a chance at a playoff run...I don't think it will take him long to realize Arians does not put up with crap.

I get a bunch of updates to my mailbox about every player because I am a fantasy football nut. Tate's unhappiness came out about 2 weeks ago and I believe it was on ESPN, Profootball Talk, and Football Guys.

The next week I don't think he had a carry, which is a pretty strong statement from the team.
