Pretty remarkable what our bench has been doing over the last four games. The Suns bench has outscored the Grizzlies bench by 25, Spurs by 19, Lakers by 8 and Utah by 34. They are doing it on both ends of the floor.

vs Blazers: 29 - 32
vs Utah: 50 - 16
vs Lakers: 33 - 25
vs Spurs: 45 - 26
vs Grizzlies: 40 - 15

Warrick 12.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg in 26 min, Suns third leading scorer
Dragic 10.6 ppg, 4.2 apg in 16 min, Suns fourth leading scorer
Frye with 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1 steal in 25 min

Suns bench is averaging 39.4 ppg to 22.8 for the opponents' benches.

Bench scoring would be even better when Warrick, who is now getting the most minutes (coming off the bench) at PF for his post play, moves into the starting lineup and Hedo moves to SF off the bench, which would allow Dragic to play off the ball more, as well as PG.

But in our triple overtime win, just our second W of the season, Warrick played the final 22 minutes at Power Forward and Hedo played most of the minutes at SF, with Hill coming in for spot assignments.

Considering Hill's age, that would seem to be the best combination throughout the season. But with Hedo and Warrick as starters, as well as finishers. This time around, Hill could be very useful coming off the bench, such as his out-of-bounds alley-oop.

Gar who? All I remember is some guy named Westy calling a timeout we didn't have.

Garfield Heard hit the rainbow shot in the triple overtime game vs. the Celtics in the Suns Cinderella trip to the finals many years ago.

Westy is Paul Westphal, who played for, and later coached, the Suns and is currently head coach of the Sacramento Kings.

He was a great offensive 2-Guard. Ambidextrous as well.

When my younger son Paul was about 6 or 7, he was a red-hot Suns fan and his favorite player was Westy, who was signing autographs at the PV Mall one time.

He signed the photo, "To Paul, from Paul" which, of course, thrilled my son.

I was kidding. I was up all night listening to every game of those playoffs on the Armed Forced Radio Network (Germany edition). Back then, before simulcasts became the norm, a good announcer could make you "see" the games. AFAIC, I saw every moment of that playoff run and the next year I got the album. Through the years I've managed to actually see several of the games against the Warriors and the Celtics. Great fun.

We knew we had a plethora of bench players. So, I had assumed our bench would continue to perform. The problem for me is we need another quality starter in our starting lineup.

Our bench continues to outscore opponents, usually by a wide margin:

11/07 Atlanta: 46-19
11/08 Memphis: 37-22
11/12 Sacramento: 43-18
11/14 Lakers: 40-22
11/15 Denver: 36-27

And now that Frye will be starting for awhile, it will be interesting to see if Gentry still uses a true 10-men rotation. Last game we played 10, but Clark only played five minutes. Will Barron get 10+ minutes a game? Will it be Clark or Siler sometimes?
