I am much more excited about this then Haggans 19 tackles and 1 sack in 11 games.

I thought it was time to go younger, but I will get behind the move.

Yep, without a doubt we need to get some much needed youth and speed at the position. Even though we have the same 4 OLB's we had from last year, its still a priority without a doubt.

Cool... I've always liked Berry

Out of remaining FA's, I would like to see Ralph Brown and Terrell Smith signed... maybe Elton for minimum. I thought Ralph Brown made some plays when given the opportunity. Smith is the emotional guy.

great news, Berry ALWAYS gives 100% on the field and of all the players on the team...this is one of the guys that really loves being a Cardinal and he shows it on the field and towards the fans

Now if he can stay healty for this season, great deal. He still has some left in the tank and great leader and locker room guy.

I guess the Cardinals did a good job keeping everyone around. Besides losing Smith, it seems like everyone is back.

"With Berry’s new contract, there are only five unrestricted free agents of the Cardinals remaining that have not signed a contract – somewhere – to play in 2009: offensive linemen Elton Brown and Scott Peters, tight end Jerame Tuman, fullback Terrelle Smith and cornerback Ralph Brown.

Of those players, Smith and Ralph Brown are the most likely to have a chance to return, but the Cardinals could wait through the draft and see what rookies are brought in before making any more moves."

Hopefully Smith and Brown are both brought back, I think both were unheralded but important parts of the team, and they won't cost much.

I really thought Ralph Brown brought a lot to the table last season as well.

Berry is the person we need on this team to help develop young players. Even if his impact on the field declines with his age, he is a great person and a great leader. In the end, character is what builds dynasties.

That is the key, leadership. We underestimate the importance of this in the locker room. Hopefully he stays healthy because if so he will certainly be a contibutor.

:yeahthat:

I think he became my favorite player last year when he took that pay cut and then played his ass off. I'll never forget him taking the NFC trophy and carrying it up to the stands.
