What a change from last year!

Cardinals are in much better shape; Seahawks' situation is rocky

Drew Stanton gives the Arizona Cardinals the best backup situation in the league -- which is kind of funny, considering that they also had the worst quarterback situation in general last season. This time around, the Cards are loaded at the backup spot. I'm confident Bruce Arians might even find a way to develop Ryan Lindley down the road.

The one team I'm worried about is the Seattle Seahawks. With Matt Flynn gone to the Oakland Raiders, the Seahawks are left with a couple of inexperienced players to go with Brady Quinn, who failed to impress in his stint as a starter with the Kansas City Chiefs last season.

It is tough to have a solid backup QB situation when all 12 of your QBs are starters.

I disagree. I think Cousins is the best QB on the bench right now. He looked VERY good in his limited playing time last year. But I do like Stanton, and think he leaves us in good shape at backup. Thank God. Hopefully our line will play well enough to keep our guys upright, but I feel MUCH more comfortable with this QB situation than the ones for the past few years

I think the thought process is that you don't have to take any of the offense off the table if Palmer goes down, because Stanton has a similar skill set.

With Cousins, he can probably operate an offense, but he can't operate the offense that RG3 runs. That's a bit of a problem.

EDIT: and let's not get carried away, either. Cousins had a nice showing at Cleveland, but the rest of the time he looked like a third-round QB.

Cousins is also on the list of Best backups. I only showed the Cardinals related one in my quote.

"nice"? He was awesome. I'd say he looked like a 3rd rd rookie vs SEA, but the rest, he looked much better. Most QBs taken that deep don't expect playing time in general their rookie year

gotcha. Thanks. Was on my phone. Couldn't read the whole thing
