Seeing Webb tonight, I am having a hard time saying Johnson is the clearcut winner. Here the stats for the top 5 winningest pitchers in D-Backs history. Come 2 to 3 more years, Webb will be on top of most of these. Man I hope he stays with them his entire career. Those are going to be some nice numbers.

Webb, I didn't even move to Arizona/Become a Dbacks fan until 2005. So while I've got a lot of respect for RJ, he's a legend, but I've seen Webb for the last 3 years now and he gets my vote.

Webb is great, but he's nowhere near as dominant as Randy was during his first stint here. 4 consecutive CY Youngs, right? He should have had another too except he got screwed when the team sucked and he was great.

This one isn't even close.

Right now it's Randy. Until Webb can win a few more Cy Young awards and bring the Diamondbacks a World Series title, Randy will be considered the best. Let's wait ten more years.

Agree. This one is not close. RJ was unbelievable those years he won the CY and he should of won it again but like you said, he got no help from the offense.

Come back and try this again after Webb has 5 Cy Youngs, throws a couple of no-hitters including a PERFECT game, strikes out 20 in one night, strikes out 4000+ lifetime and wins a World Series MVP.

Webb has never totally dominated and intimidated pitchers like Johnson did. Not even close yet

Best D'backs pitcher of all-time. Randy, of course.

Is it good to have Brandon Webb leading our staff now? Of course.

Each, very special in their own way.

Sorry, bankybruce, but this thread is sort of superfluous.

I know, I know. I got caught up in the moment of another Webb Gem. When it is all said and done Webb will be on top though.

On a side note, does anyone else find it funny that Brian Anderson is #4 in career wins for the D-Backs with 41.

If you'd asked who has a better chance of starting the All Star Game this year....

Johnson, easy...the debate is for #2, but since Schilling wasn't here as long, Webb is passing him, but if I had to chose one of them in their prime for one season it would be Johnson, Schilling and then Webb at #3.

I don't know whats worse. People thinking Webb has the dominance of Randy in his prime or the fact that Brian Anderson is the fourth "best" pitcher in DBacks history...

No one said Mr. Anderson is the fourth best pitcher in D-Backs history, it was said he has the fourth most wins and that is a true fact.

Schilling's stay was indeed short and very spectacular. His being able to start World Series Games 1-4-7 (unheard of in these times), while Randy was held out of starting in NY, but started games 1 and 6 and relieved in Game 7 got us a Championship. They made it happen . . . along with Gonzo's bat.

But I'd say that Webb is now 2nd best in our history, for his consistency and dominance, not just on the team, but in the league.

Ridiculous poll...Johnson will go down as a top 5 pitcher all time, arguably the most dominant in the history of baseball. In addition, he was at his most dominant with the Dbacks. No doubt it is Randy.
