It always fascinates me on how one thread can spawn-off additional threads (and in some cases so indirectly)... That's what thirty-two's siblings thread did because it inspired me to listen to Everly Brothers (which I tend to do off and on).... If the lord ever created a pair of siblings to soon combine their natural talents in form of music.. it was the Everly Brothers.... Their voices sounded very angelic together and in the process they pioneered two+ harmonies and in fact no one since has quite matched the standards they attained in that regard, but some of the following have come close....

I'm not necessarily ranking these in order, but as stated above the Everly Brothers are #1... on a pedestal of all their own:

1) Lennon & McCartney (and whenever Harrison joined in)... Among the Beatles earliest influences were the Everly Brothers and John and Paul probably came to closest to perfecting what they did.... Whenever George joined in..it added some more allure... Don't have to listen further than
"Abbey Road" "Because".....

2) Simon & Garfunkel... Come to think of it...they nearly equalled the Beatles intricate harmonies.... Besides the 2 I just mentioned... The lord created Simon & Garfunkel to collborate....I know that sounds soo drastic, but just think about it.... their voices blended into something wonderful.....

3) Staley & Cantrell..... "No Excuses", "Down In A Hole", "Sunshine", "Rooster", "Rotten Apple", "Angry Chair", "Brother", "Got Me Wrong", etc..etc..etc.. Need I say more?

4) Ray & Dave Davies

5) Boyz-II-Men

6) the Supremes

7) CSNY or nearly anything involving them.... Crosby while he was w/the Byrds, Nash when he was with the Hollies, also Stills and Young with Buffalo Springfield....

8) Mamas & The Papas

9) Gomez... Listen to Ian Ball, Tom Gray, and Ben Ottewell all 3 share vocals together.... probably this century's best....

10) Anything with the Finn Brothers (listen to Crowded House)

11) Van Halen (whether if it was either Dave or Sammy)... Michael Anthony's backing harmonies to me separated VH from many of their contemporaries...

12) Grace Slick/Mary Balin (Jefferson Airplane)... No.. not the dreaded Starship incarnation that was responsible for "We Built This City" (and that was Mickey Thomas..not Balin on vocals by then), but listen to their earlier works together from '67-'75....they were quite amazing together...

That's all I'll list for now... what others can anyone else think of?

Edit:

Townshend/Daltrey/the Ox (The Who)....I dont believe out of all that I listed that there is more of an awkward "pairing" since Townshend and Daltrey's voices were of two polar extremes.... However..whenever it was necessary, they somehow always managed to nail down their harmonies with such huge success... especially on "Whos Next" & "Quadrophenia"...somewhat on "Tommy"....

Edit 2:
Earlier Bee Gees (their late 60s albums)
