I downloaded all the Lost shows and don't want to watch them in front of my 17" computer screen. I have S-Video on my comp. All I would need is a long cable and some RCA cables right? What kind of graphics can I expect?

Thanks.

If your TV doesn't have an S-video input, I suggest you buy a cable like this:
You must be registered for see images

I bought a 50' cable off of ebay for $15 bucks. Watching on the TV is much better than watching on your monitor.

Unless you have an HDTV the resolution will be horrible.

I've done this before using Svideo out from a laptop to play mame on a tv and watched a dvd once doing this as well.

Mame wasn't too bad; the games were shown on old monitors in low resolution inside arcade cabinets so it worked ok on a tv. But if you are using even 800 x 600 on your computer it will look pretty crappy on your tv.

Using a TV as a monitor is a bad idea unless it's high res is a bad idea, but there is nothing wrong with watching .avi files on your tv. I much prefer that to my 15" LCD monitor and I only have a 27" console TV.

I have a pc I built for my big screen. I plays my video and audio files from my computer network on the big screen. I work ok the res goes down a little on dvd movies but when on the internet/email it is a little fuzzy. But movies look ok.

I bought a 10' S-video cable and miniplug-to-rca cable and it works! It's like having a 22" monitor and I can use my computer while sitting on my couch. Movies show up perfect. DLing the last few lost shows and Desperate Housewives (only watched the first 2 when no one was around :D )
