Best webhost company?

Can some of you guys that work for GoDaddy or do websites give me your opinion on the best hosting company to use?

I want to make a website using postnuke and gallery so I need MySQL services for a backend database. Someone offered to host for me for $10 a month, probably won't watch my transfer amount because he's a good business contact of mine. Not like I would transfer much data anyway, its just going to be a small personal site. I don't know if I should use this guy or go somewhere else? He said SQL service is usually $79 a month, does that sound right?

Nope. $79/mo for MySQL is ridiculous. It should be included with most hosts' basic packages.

I use data393.com, real happy with them, but their plans are $10/mo for 1 MySQL DB, or $20/mo for 5 MySQLs. Probably not a good fit for you. You can find something much cheaper.

http://www.asmallorange.com has a great reputation and are dirt cheap. They got so popular that they stopped accepting new accounts, but I heard they just opened it up again.

I use ICDSoft.com

They rule. $60 per year, your first year if it's a personal site, $120 if business, and it renews at $40 or $80, respectively. MySQL included.

I work for godaddy and if you want to use SQL server we have the deluxe plan that is 9.95 month or 7.95 a month if you buy a year or more at one time and you get access to SQL server, 10 MySQL databases, 2 gigs of disk space, 100 gigs of bandwith, 100 free e-mail addresses and you can choose from CGI(linux based), or ASP(windows based), I prefer the CGI because there is so much more you can do with it through us that are free services, like creating a messageboard and such. I am not saying this because I work there, but we are pretty stable and if you buy it and stay with it, you price can never do up. We have some customers that are still paying $5 a month for the same hosting because they ahve continues to use it. Just to let you know how well we are doing, we are going to have a commercal at the super bowl and we are the #1 Registrant in the world now surpasing Network solutions and the #3 hosting provider and gaining everyday. On the phoen they are much like any other we hosting company. Arrogant nerds who sound like its torture to talk with you lol
