Took the plunge tonight and purchased a 360. Bought Halo3 only. What are some suggestions? Not really sure what kind of games I like yet.

'Hitman: Blood Money' is a MUST HAVE! This is my favorite game and Hitman is my favorite overall series.

The GTA games are always a winner.

'Ghost Recon 2: Advanced Warfighter' is great.

I just got 'Rainbow Six: Vegas 2' at Wal Mart for $20 and it is badass as all hell! Now I gotta find me the first one somewhere....

Red Dead Redemption
Assassin's Creed 1 & 2

Wal Mart has one of the Assassin's Creed games for $20 as well. I'm curious about that game. Obviously I like open map games with a first person approach, but I like realism. I would never have an interest in Halo, for example. Robots, droids, and aliens are a no-go for me.

So, is Assassin's Creed realistic AND is it very violent? I am only interested in M rated games, no T games....

I have also heard a little bit about Red Dead. It was pretty highly anticipated last year (or so), right?

Please tell me about both Red Dead and Assassin's Creed....

Red Dead redemption, skate 1 2 or 3, blur, call of duty modern warfare 2.

I recommend www.gamefly.com, have been using it for years and have played every game worth playing on xbox while only actually buying a few games.

for open games and realism i recommend red dead redemption and call of duty modern warfare 2. Assassins creed is also open and realistic.

Agreed on Mass Effect and Assasin's Creed. I loved Batman Arkham Asylum also. Rock Band is a ton of fun for parties and families.

I third, fourth or whatever the count is for Red Dead Redemption.

I'll mention Fallout since no one else has mentioned it.

And of course, Rock Band 2.

I want to pick up Red Dead one of these days. My queue is rather stacked right now, but I'll be making a point to pick it up just based on the amazing word of mouth. What would you compare to? (if anything)

Grand Theft Auto with better game play and story line.

some repeats:

red dead redemption
fallout
assassins creed
battlefield bad company 2 -FTW

Forget anything that has the words Call of Duty in it. Unless you want to play with a bunch of little kids online that boost, hack, and glitch. It is an utterly ridiculous game to play online. Way OVERRATED and played out. too many other games out there that are better...looking forward to giving the new Medal of Honor a shot.

red dead = gta in the wild west, not some thug in LA or an immigrant in NY

I never had problems online and feel it is the best game for your buck by far. I got tired of it and dont play it anymore but i played the **** out of it when i was into it. I typically do not wear headsets so kids dont bother me. I have my own kids on the couch bothering me already.
