Alright here is a pic of the tickets for the bets I made for everybody.

As you can see I did it with seperate tickets so if you want them mailed to you then let me know. Or I can hold them and send them to you if you win. I will not cash them though. Some of the payoffs are in excess of 1200.00 ranging from 400.00 to 4000.00 So I would be taxed if I were to cash them and send the $ to you should you win. I would do it for any of the tickets under 1200.00 if you want.

The bets were made at the imperial Palace. I went to three different casinos and none were offering bets for the Division Championship. They stated that bets wouldnt open up on that probably until some time after the draft. Since a division championship is more likely to be swayed by draft improvements rather than a Conerence Championship or a Super Bowl. For that reason I wasnt able to make all of the bets for WisconsinCard and Redrob. I didnt want to lay the whole 100.00 and 150.00 on the NFC Champ. that would be a big risk and didnt know if you wanted to bet any of it on that. So PM me or let me know in here what you want me to do with the money? I can hold it till after the draft and make the wager then. Or I can send it back to you via Paypal. Redrob your bets for the SB and the NFC Champ were made.

Kate for the same reason above I didnt know what you wanted to do with your 20.00 so let me know as well. The 10.00 bet was made.

I layed some money down myself as well. Hopefully we will be cashing these in about 10 months from now!

Sweet. Thanks, Shane. SInce my payout is under $1200, would you mind just hanging on to it? Thanks again.

If the NFC Champs odds open up in April or May and aren't giving us the credit we deserve, would you mind making another betting run? I LOVE our chances to win the West, but Vegas may not see it that way.

Hey Shane,

Thanks again for doing this - Would you mind holding on to my ticket as well since the payout would be way under $1200?

Also, since you said you'd make another run when the division odds come out, would you mind using the $20 that I gave you on that when the time comes?

Thanks again, man - you rock!

Thanks Shane!

All I gotta say is that it would be great if the Cards simply made the playoffs this year. I'd be happy with that alone.

IF the Cards were successful enough to simply make it to the NFC Championship game, then I will probably crap my pants.

I'll think about the ticket. For now, you can hold on to it.

EDIT: yeah hold on to the ticket, if it hits I think I will gladly make a trip to Vegas to collect!

Ok Wisconsincard(100.00), Kate(20.00), and Redrob(150.00):

I went to two different casinos and they still arent offering bets on the division as of yet. I can keep your money and try again later. Or I can paypal it back to you. Let me know what you want? Just PM me your paypal handle so I can send it back if thats what you wish.

Do you think it'll be worthwhile to wait on the division? Meaning, the odds wont be TOO good (we are getting better and all, lol) If you think it would be worthwhile, and dont mind trying again later, I would prefer to just have you keep it until then.

Thanks again Shane for doing this.. yer awesome!

Gambling withholding rules from IRS site

Reportable Gambling Winnings
Generally, gambling winnings are reportable if the amount paid reduced, at the option of the payer, by the wager is (a) $600 or more and (b) at least 300 times the amount of the wager. However, these requirements do not apply to winnings from bingo, keno, and slot machines. Gambling winnings for these games are reportable if:

The winnings (reduced by the wager) are $1,500 or more from a keno game.

The winnings (not reduced by the wager) are $1,200 or more from a bingo game or slot machine.

If you pay reportable gambling winnings, you must file Form W-2G with the IRS and provide a statement to the winner (Copies B and C of Form W-2G).

Withholding
There are two types of withholding on gambling winnings: (1) regular gambling withholding at 25% (33.33% for certain noncash payments) and (2) backup withholding at 28%. If a payment is already subject to regular gambling withholding, it is not subject to backup withholding.

Regular Gambling Withholding
You may be required to withhold 25% of gambling winnings for federal income tax. This is referred to as regular gambling withholding. Withhold at the 25% rate if the winnings are more than $5,000 and are from:

Sweepstakes,

Wagering pools,

Lotteries, and

Other wagering transactions if the winnings are at least 300 times the amount wagered.

Do not withhold at the 25% rate on winnings from bingo, keno, or slot machines or any other wagering transaction if the winnings are $5,000 or less. However, see Backup Withholding below.

Regular gambling withholding applies to the total amount of gross proceeds (the amount of winnings less the amount wagered), not merely to the amount in excess of $5,000.

Clarification

The term "Reportable gambling winnings" is in connection with W-2G reporting. As far as your Form 1040 Individual tax return, all gambling income (winnings) should be reported on the return.

Memo to Shane:

Open an ING orange savings account. I'm getting 3.0% right now.

Oh and if you do decide to open one, use me as a referrer and you'll get $25 and earn me $10. /shameless plug
