Same could be said for the Patriots/Titans game for people who bet the under. The +/- was 47 1/2 and it was sitting at 42 until the Titans scored that meaningless TD to push it to 49.

What they don't say is that swing goes to the betters that bet the other way. The casino's did win that money it just went to the other side. The idea of being a legal or illegal bookmaker is that you want the money evenly bet both ways. That way you just take your guaranteed "juice" and call it a day. Your not the gambler you want the sure thing. Many a bookmaker will "dump" part of their bets just to get it back to even. If they lose their bet they made, well it wasn't their money anyway.

Today's New York Times has a great article with pictures that shows how the Saints screwed up the final play. The Vikings had three receivers to the left and only one on the right and the Saints defense reacted poorly accordingly. But there is no excuse about Williams who not only missed a tackle but also collided with the only other Saints defender that could have tackled the receiver.
