Bettman ‘expects’ NHL to resume this season

Commissioner Gary Bettman remains optimistic the NHL will resume after the league announced a pause in the 2019-20 regular season. “I'm a little hesitant to use the word suspension, because our hope and our expectation is, when things get back to normal and it's safe and it's prudent, that we can go back and resume the season and ultimately have the Stanley Cup awarded,” Bettman said in an appearance on CNBC. The NHL decided to postpone play Thursday afternoon following warnings from medical professionals and a positive test from a player on the Utah Jazz.
