This TV series will be a continuation of the three movies that ran from 1984 to 1994 and will have Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley in at least the pilot. His son, Aaron, is trying to get out from under his shadow as he takes on the criminal element of Beverly Hills.

Also starring: Brandon T. Jackson, David Denman, Kevin Pollak and Sheila Vand

Being written by Shawn Ryan who created The Shield and Last Resort.

And more proof that Hollywood is completely devoid of any creativity.

Hollywood is dictated by its audience. The audience doesn't watch really creative stuff--look at Fringe, great show but nobody watched it. It's a miracle it lasted as long as it did with the ratings it got.

Plus, this is also a police procedural, which outside of reality is EASILY the biggest money-making genre on television.

There are plenty studios in Hollywood that would love to be more creative, but if it doesn't help their bottom line, why would they? ESPECIALLY network television.

Shawn Ryan gives this credibility IMO. I will be watching.

Not surprised. Let's face it...a black man in Beverly Hills being a shocker is kind of dated in terms of a concept. It was one of the main themes.
