Mar. 25—Biddeford native Jack Williams signed a two-year entry level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Williams, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward, played three seasons at Northeastern. His final game with the Huskies was a 4-3 loss in double overtime to Maine in the Hockey East semifinals on Thursday. In 106 games for Northeastern, Williams had 39 goals and 55 assists, including 16 goals and 25 assists this season.

"Jack Williams is a skilled, hard-working player with a passion for the game, who was a very productive player and leader during his time at Northeastern," said Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell said in a story on the Blue Jackets' website. "We think he has great potential and are excited to welcome him to the Blue Jackets family."

Prior to Northeastern, Williams played for four seasons with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the United States Hockey League.
