Bielema knows he wasn't for long. All his best assistants -- and they were really good -- are gone. Alvarez isn't around to hold his hand. At least at Arkansas he can throw some money at assistants.

Why do you say that?

You think he is just a product of his assistants and Alvarez?

Yes. The B10 was AWFUL this year and still lost 4 games. They lost to Penn State. (!!!)

Lost three OT games (all to teams with winning records), and two games by a FG each.

ASU would kill for a season like that.

Not clear what ASU has to do with this.

In a year in which Wisconsin was the clear Big 10 favorite in what turned it to be an awful conference top to bottom, they lost 5 games, 4 of them in conference. They beat only one team -- 16-14 over Utah State -- that finished with a winning record. It was so bad after the Oregon State debacle Bielema fired his offensive line coach.

Bielema is not taking over a new program as much as he's abandoning Wisconsin because he knows it's all downhill now.

Early favorite among the Badgers I know is the man you wanted at ASU, and the person they give all the credit to for past Wisconsin success under Bielema - Paul Chryst.

Im praying Chryst goes to Wisconsin. Even though he's put out a statement confirming his commitment to Pitt, it would seem Wisconsin would be his dream job.

After the Pitt fans were endlessly whiny and rude and on and on and on about the Todd Graham hire, Id love to see them get kicked in the nuts again.

It's been suggested Chryst and Alvarez had an private agreement of Bielema left, but Chryst has a $6 million buyout. If Wisconsin moves on, it's because they couldn't find a way around that number.

Brett has cut the umbilical cord from Alvarez. I can see him floundering in the SEC. It was getting crowded under that bus at Wisconsin.
