What the hell is our OL going to look like next season, other than the left side? This offseason is just getting started!

Wow.

SK is that dude. Let's see if we can add another solid front seven defensive player in this draft and get crazy on D

What are the odds we can re-sign him to a new deal now? Great trade, Keim is the best.

Also, maybe this is a sign that you're all wrong about Cooper being terrible, unless you think Belichik is an idiot. Arians just didn't like him, for whatever reason.

Cooper will start and he may do well but the bottom line is we can more easily replace a guard than get a top pass rusher.

Big trade. I wonder if the Cards got assurances he won't face any suspension over that weird drug rumor that came out.

I really liked Cooper, one of the few, but I would make this trade 100 times out of 100 without even blinking. Top tier 26 year old pass rushers are so much more valuable than a competent guard and a 2nd round pick.
Yep. Plus the Cardinals would have probably had to use a high round pick on an unproven pass rusher anyway. So you might as well use it for a proven vet.

If Deflategate doesn't happen, I don't think we pull this off at this price. The Pats needed that second round pick worse than they needed Cooper.

Could this be an opportunity for Earl Watford to finally step in?

Chandler Jones would've easily been the #1 pass rusher on the open market this offseason. Better than JPP, better than Vernon, better than Hali.

Big time trade.

He did have that bizarre incident where he was tripping balls on Spice and ended up in a police station, although it should be noted that the substance is not illegal.

Yes, he is a little bit of a head case, so there is some risk. However, with Cooper being in the doghouse and not really playing anyways, this seems like a risk worth taking for a 2nd rounder.
Especially when many people on here were willing to trade away two 1st's for a proven pass rusher.

The deal is exactly what Ed stated. In the NFL it is hard to find a QB, #1 CB, LT and next to QB an elite pass rusher... we can get a guard, and now we have a pass rusher and if it took a second round pick and a guard for what usually requires a top ten pick in the draft but this with more proof with a proven guy, hell yes :)

Ill be excited until we find out what it is.

Another aspect to this trade. I heard on the radio that the Pats are not allowed to trade back into the 1st round because of Deflategate. Perfect time to pounce on their young defensive talent. Great job by Keim

A in the dog house, non-starter and a pick we usually waste for a premier pass rusher. Awesome.

One bad caveat. He is an UFA after this season, so we could lose him.

Looks like a short term win for both trade partners.

Pats need a warm body for that int O line ( and Cooper is a warm body :D ). The Pats also lost their 1st round draft in the Brady penalty. Now they have two low 2nd rounders, which seems like a bonanza to Belicheck. He will do something wild with those picks. The 1st round is mediocre. Tons of value in 2/3 rounds. Cards are desperate for pass rush OLB/DE and their window of opportunity is closing fast. Maybe they can convince Jones to stay around but considering the money his position and production garners, good luck with that. Now maybe the Cards will consider Ryan Kelly with that 1st rounder.

I don't think Belichick is an idiot. But anyone believing this trade validates Cooper's ability or criticizes BA's decision making, is another story.

So does this mean a Oline selection is possible with the 1st round pick or will they still go defense?
