The more I think about it I think this is the biggest game for our Big Red

Now I know that there are MUCH more challenging tilts down the line but as far as the Cards, its never been just about talent vs. talent.

Confidence and focus is something they will need down the line for their matchup with the Cowboys, Pats, Seattle (in sea.) , etc. This is also something this team has lacked in the many years I have been a fan. I believe that if we can go into Washington, and beat the skins on the road then we will start to see that this team is for real. That would put us at 3-0 to start the season and two road wins to boot.

This team has the talent and coaching, but they also need the swagger of a winning team. Thats something they havent had in decades...

So in my estimation......IF they can beat a very beatable Washington team this weekend on the road, then I forcast a very good upcoming season for the Cardinals.

Whatcha think?

I think every week, we make that game the "biggest game of the season." We have the opportunity to make up for 20 years of ineptitude this season and we have started on the right foot. We can ill afford to start patting ourselves on the back just yet and play complacent football.

I am with you. I think we are good enough to be a playoff team, and a playoff team would beat Washington in Washington. If A=C and C=B then A=B.

I see your point and this is no doubt a big game for early in the season. I'd still rank either Seahawk game above this one though.

It's a big game, but you're right, the Seahawk games are much bigger. One, the Seahawks have ruled the roost in the NFC West for a long time. Knocking over the defending champs is very big. Two, it has obvious ramifications for who wins the division. Three, it would represent a passing of the torch, or should I say ripping the torch away from the current possessors.

Also, the home games against the midgets and felons are both pretty important, not only for defending the home turf, but in improving the conference record.

That's not even close to what Pythagorus said.

:D

I agree this is a big game for years now we have always lost games like this, we need to win it to show we're better now.

Having lived in DC, and still somewhat in Skins territory, this game is the most important game of the season for me. Been circled on my calendar since the schedule came out. Given that we probably won't play the Skins for a few years after this game, bragging rights are huge.

Go Cards!!!

Every week is going to be the biggest game of the season.

Week one was huge to beat a division rival on the road.

Week two was huge to dominate a bad team at home and get a winning streak going

Week three is huge to prove we can be a solid time on the road and prove we were not just beating up on cupcakes.

Every game is huge in the NFL!

We need to win 10 games. I doubt Whisenhunt is focusing on an early season game as the most critical.

The Redskins sure have had alot of distractions this week:

1. Chris Cooley posting his playbook (oh, and his manhood) on his blog.

2. Clinton Portis fighting with ex-Redskin Brian Mitchell on the radio after being criticized by the former player.

3. Clinton Portis saying he'd like to run behind the best line (or play in the best scheme) to the Washington Post, earning the ire of his linemen and coaching staff. This implies that he doesn't think that he is currently working with the best.

4. They are one week away from playing the hated Cowboys in Dallas.

I'm not saying any of this will have a bearing on the outcome of the game, but it was sure nice for all these issues to come up this week nonetheless. If nothing else, it gives us more fodder to talk about our upcoming opponent.

Personally, I think this week is going to be an extremely tough test for us. Washington has played two pretty good teams and fared reasonably well, with Jason Campbell sorta waking up last week against the Saints. But I wouldn’t say it’s impossible to squeak out a win if we continue to play aggressively and remain smart.

But I look at the Redskin’s schedule and see the Cowboys and Eagles looming right after we get to pound it out with them… I gotta believe they’re looking at us just as much of a “must win” as anything we can muster.

Man… this year I am sooooo glad we are not in the NFC East anymore…. Holy samolians, they're stacked!

This week is more inportant then next week at the Jets. The Redskins are in the NFC and this game counts againt the playoff scenario. If we beat the Redskins last year we would of been in the playoffs.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. This game wont be easy, because no road game is, but we are better than Washington. Our D may or may not be as good, it is too early to say. We are decades ahead of their O, which is just atrocious. Dont be fooled by the fact that they put up 29 at home against the worst D in the league who was missing four starters. Jason Campbell didn't wake up last week. He failed repeatedly in the red zone all game, only to benefit from his D getting LUCKY turnovers. Yes Skin's fans who may be reading this, when the reciever pops the ball up to one of your players ten feet away, the turnover was LUCKY!!!!!

Ah, the Cardinals do play against all the NFC East teams this year.

Granted we don't have to have a better record than all them to win the division, but it's not like we don't have to compete against them...

Just sayin'

It's funny, but odds are we WILL lose a game at some point this year. I think most of us fans just want the uphoria to last 1 more week......and if we win we will want it to last one more week.

As fans we want to be convinced that this team is for real. Most of us realize that what we have accomplished up to this point would have to be described as "moderate" success. However, what moderate success is for most teams can only be described as monumental for us in our fans eyes.

We so desire to be recognized as contenders that it fogs our view. This game is big, but they are all big. We see this game as a way to come to the fore front of the NFC echelon.

We need to play to our ability, avoid turnovers and play decent special teams. We HANDED this team the game last year. We are an improved and more cohesive unit than last year. I don't know if the Redskins can make the claim that they are better than last year, at least not at this point.

Bottom line, it sure is nice to be 2-0 and not 0-2 thinking how indeed this is a must game and what an 0-3 start would mean. It is so sweet to not have to look at the schedule trying to figure out who's going to beat the Seahawks so we can crawl within a game or two of them.

The football season is 16 games. Every game means a lot. For us we got to get ready for the lose, and it's coming ,and not take our eyes off the prize. IMO we are a good to very good football team. If all things remain the same we will be there at the end! What a year all ready!!!!

It certainly is a big game.. but Im looking at this East coast trip and saying, lets just get 1..

Do whatever we can to get a game here.. and come home for Buffalo at 3-1..

Exactly. The game Sunday isn't the biggest game of the season because the Cards can beat the Jets next week and still set up two fantastic home games against the Bills and Cowboys.

Can you imagine the excitement the Dallas game will generate if the Cards go into that game 4-1!

yup if we somehow win this game and go to 3-0 before the jets game that would be huge you will see more excitment over the cards that we have not seen for a long time :), starting off 3-0 with the division we are in would be huge plus if we get by the redskins I really feel we can beat the jets also would be hard be we could do it if our offense shows up. But whatever happens it should be a fun two weeks looking forward to it!!! GO CARDS
