Last nights game at JDC against the Hawks had everything that we needed to be the best yet under new managment.

The house was packed with Coyotes fans, rabid for another huge win.

The locals were playing the Western Conference leading Black Hawks.

We were riding an 8 game win string.

We were just back on a quick home stop from a 4 game road trip, with more to follow.

Representation from the prospective new owners group, Ice Edge Holdings, was present to see how we did under this pressure.

So what does our team do? -------- They only come up with their best, big game yet under Tippett and Maloney.

WOW !!! After a sluggish start, (still tired from the road trip), they willed their way back from a 4-2 deficit in the 3rd period for a tie. Unbelievably,(and I don't know how they managed this), they played nearly the whole overtime period in the Hawks zone, firing away at the net. I can't imagine how they found the heart to produce this kind of effort after such a tiring road trip.

They forced the match to a shootout, during which Briz closed the gate, and Vrbada once again found his back-hand for a goal. Hollywood couldn't have written a better script.

Suddenly, its not just the national hockey media that is aware of this improbable story, but the local media seems to have found it too, and none too soon. I was beginning to wonder if ANYTHING could divert their attention from the Suns and Diamondbacks.

This effort, (the heart this team displayed), was the perfect response to those who packed the stadium, and who watched on TV. Tippett's pack mentality is working, for the players, AND for the fans who are howling in response to the effort being put forth by their new-found heroes.

Suddenly, home field advantage in the playoffs is not out of the realm of possibility.

Suddenly, Jerry Rheinsdorf is said to be back in the quest for ownership of this franchise. This cannot hurt, because it only confirms what Ice Edge Holdings has been wondering all along, (is this team for real, and is this a good investment)? That should have been answered in spades to both groups vying for ownership of this club with last night's huge win in front of a sellout crowd. This from a place that a few months ago was said to have NO chance of sustaining ANY kind of hockey, let alone NHL hockey.

This franchise has stepped up to the plate in a HUGE way, and now it is time for the other parties to do likewise!!!!!

Hell yeah, it was wonderful seeing a packed house last night. This really was a big victory for hockey in Arizona.
