As the deadline approaches...

What do you think was the worst trade of all time?

My favorite (as a Suns fan) is Dennis Johnson for Rick Robie.

This one is still legendary in New England and allowed the Celts to win a few titles.

How about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from the Bucks to the Lakers for Junior Bridgeman, Dave Meyers, Elmore Smith & Brian Winters in 1975?

If this trade that ESPN just reported as being close is at all true the Warriors would be on the ***** list. Supposedly New York would trade Shandon Anderson, Dikembe Mutombo, and Kurt Thomas and get Nick Van Exel and Erick Dampier in return.

There's just got to be more to that trade.

And it's not like the Knicks can send any picks.

As Jimmy Kimmel once joked, "I walked in on Shaq in the shower...I thought it was Mugsy Bogues with an afro standing in front of him."

Wow this thread certainly went downhill fast. :D

The worst trade ever? My candidate would be when the Warriors traded Parish and the #3 pick for the rights to Joe Barry Carroll. Carroll was one of the worst under achievers in history and Parish would play a key roll in three Celtics titles. Oh, by the way, the #3 pick was used to take Kevin McHale.

On the Kareem trade, that was forced by Kareem. It was overly one sided but the Bucks did not really have much choice.

That Grant Hill for Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins deal is looking more and more like one of the worst ever. Not only did Wallace turn into a monster rebounder and shot blocker, but Hill's injury coupled with his crippling contract has handcuffed Orlando more than any team in recent memory, including the Suns. And he's still under contract for another 4 years.

Joe Barry for Parrish and McHale is still the worst ever.

Trades for guys that get injured probably should be put into a separate category. However, trading for a player that has a history injuries (Penny comes to mind) might qualify.
