Binghamton will be trying to win the third state title in program history. The Patriots captured state championships in 1985 and 1986, led by All-American point guard King Rice. Rice, now head coach at Monmouth, was among those in attendance Thursday.

The Patriots trailed 19-11 in the second quarter before closing the half with a 22-5 run to lead 33-24 at halftime.

Tappan Zee got as close as 52-45 with 2:52 remaining. Binghamton responded with eight consecutive points.
