When I was in Louisville, I noticed they sell a lot of "Birdgang" t-shirts and hats like that is their thing. I guess now every "bird" team will try to steal that.

Blake Shelton at Gila River Arena

Why Arizona is Blake Shelton's second home
But first, he took the opportunity to give a heartfelt speech about his love of Phoenix, saying this is like a "second home" to him.

"And let's not kid ourselves," he says. "It's because I'm an Arizona Cardinals fan. I would literally move here just because of the team, which has been brutal over the years. But I don't give a (expletive). I am a diehard Arizona Cardinals fan through thick and thin, OK?"

Then he pointed out that he had friends from the Cardinals organization in attendance, including general manager Steve Keim and head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

One of his favorite moments from last season, he says, was when Kingsbury sent him a video message before the Cardinals "destroyed," in Shelton's words, the Seahawks, so Shelton could see that he was getting pumped up for the game with "Austin."

"It's not really a get you pumped up kind of song, but I don't give a crap," Shelton said. "The coach of my favorite team was singing this song in a video message to me."

It was his second lengthy speech about his love of Arizona. Early in the set, he told the crowd "I know about Phoenix because I've been coming here a long-ass time," shouting out the Rusty Spur and Graham Central Station.

"There was about five people there when I sang," Shelton said. "Where the hell were y'all then, man. I was starving."

I live in Louisville & do not root for the Louisville Cardinals, nor like that ugly Cardinal bird they have for a logo, it is the state bird of Kentucky btw. I'm a Kentucky fan. They shouldn't call their crew "birdgang" they should call it "jealous of everything Kentucky gang" lol. There's actually more Kentucky fans in Louisville than Louisville fans. Our Cardinal logo looks cool but theirs looks like a chicken. The only thing that I do like said here is "go cards" that saying works for me on this board, not around this city lol.
