Blake might not be one of the best QBs in the league but most everyone will agree that he throws one if not the best deep ball in the league. What does McAddley and Gilmore have in common, they have speed... these guys can burn. The key will be them getting off the bump at the line and if they do and our big OL can buy time, Blake will have a field day. Answer me this, which team has more speed at the WR #1 and #2 position if Gilmore is fully recovered from his injury? McAddley at the combine I believe ran a 4.41 and Gilmore was suppose to be faster still. Also, if other teams sell McAddley and Gilmore short, then other teams will find out the hard way that speed does kill. I have stated before that I was confused when people have downgraded the ability of our young WRs after Boston left to the level of our WRs stink and when we had Boston we where all giddy with our talented young WRs. Boston did not take their skills with him to the Chargers. Yes, I feel we need to add veteran leadership and that experience for when we have a third down or red zone situation. I still feel Frank Sanders can be that guy and Kasper reminds me a lot of a young Sanders possession type reciever. Nathan Poole might not have speed, but he too has great hands, size and the ability to get open in the zone. I know this because I have seen these young recievers do it.
Remember, the critics don't really even watch the Cardinals and just go with the popular line that the Cardinals suck without even qualifying it. Face it, can someone tell me when was the last time did you here an announcer get a all-time Cardinal reciever like Frank Sanders name right... his first name is NOT FRANKY.
Lastly, if the fans stick with the idea that Plummer left a lot to be desire than can we not also make the observation that he held back our WRs and that they are better even still. Blake will not underthrow a wide open McAddley.
Oh by the way, the Cardinals finally have a good situation at TE and we also forget that Freddie Jones could have a break out year with Blake. Yes, I understand the concerns but lets not bash the young guys who are probably very excited about the upcoming season and the skills they have developed under Sullivan. Tell McAddley and Gilmore that they don't have a shot to shine as a Marcel Shipp at RB, I won't because they have a lot to offer from what I saw last year. I think Blake will be pleased the first time he sees one these wideouts make a CB look stupid shooting 10 yards past them on a route.
I too hope we sign a veteran for assurance but the young WRs make me excited with Blake in place.
